Description
I am a Principal Broker with HomeTrust Real Estate, LLC, licensed in Oregon and have worked within the Real Estate Industry since the mid 1970's selling residential and country properties.

Something about me

I  am a native Oregonian and dedicated professional with many years of experience in the Real Estate, Banking, Escrow and Service industries.  I am committed to making the experience of either selling or purchasing a home go smoothly, with as little stress as possible.  My goal is to make sure all parties involved are satisfied, and achieve the end result, if you are a seller, your home has a sold sign on it and if a buyer, you find the home of your choice.

Personally, I have a full family life being a parent and wife.  I volunteer within the community and yet am able to give absolute attention to detail for my clients.  My intent is to make the journey for  the client, the best experience they have had in real estate.

I am a watercolor artist and have sold, exhibited, and commissioned paintings so the one special thing I do for my buyers when they purchase a home is to paint them a painting for their new home as their move-in gift if appropriate.  It seems to be very much appreciated. Take a look at my art website and you can see for yourself the kinds of paintings my clients experience.

I am among just 7 percent of the real estate agents in the Portland area to be chosen as a 2011 and 2012  FIVE STAR Real Estate Agent through a rigorous research process that measures overall satisfaction.  The results were announced in the April 2011 issue of Portland Monthly in a special promotional section announcing the 2011 FIVE STAR Real Estate Agents.  Real Estate agents were evaluated on nine criteria: Customer service; Communication; Integrity; Negotiation; Overall satisfaction; Market knowledge; Closing preparation; Marketing the home, and finding the right home.

Testimonials

I worked with Mary in purchasing my first home as a single mother. I really had no idea how to go about buying a home, so was very glad to know that Mary was watching out for me. I've known Mary for several years, and have absolute confidence in her integrity and professionalism, so choosing a Realtor was simple. What I didn't understand was the amount of time and effort that went into finding and buying the perfect home.  I had quite a long 'wish list', yet was constrained by a modest budget, and Mary offered great insight into other variables that I wouldn't have thought of. In short, she did her best to make sure I ended up with a home that was just right for me, and she succeeded!  I love my new home, and with Mary's help the experience was much less intimidating than I expected it to be.

I have been a widower for a number of years and lived in an older home in need of multiple repairs.  I had been trying to find a smaller place to live for some time but home prices were out of my reach.  Prices eventually came down and I began to search again.  I was apprehensive in regard to the process of house searching because previous contact with Realtors had resulted in disinterest due to the fact that I did not have sufficient assets (because of inflated home prices) to purchase anything but a shabby fixer-upper home.

I reluctantly made contact with Mary when I saw an advertisement in a local newspaper.   I was pleasantly surprised when talking with her!  She was very upbeat and confident  that she could find what I was looking for in my price range.  This was so different than my previous correspondence with several Realtors.  In a very short time, Mary had allayed my fears and we began to work together to find a place which would be comfortable for me. She listened intently to what I wanted in a new home and we began to search.  She helped me work through misconceptions in regard to what I thought would be the best place for me.  Her focus was clearly to help me find a home in which I would be happy.  She tried very hard to accommodate my needs and limitations, and even helped arrange for contractor services when the need arose.  I was inexperienced and naïve in regard to the home purchase process and Mary spent time helping and explaining whatever I needed to know.  She truly bent over backward to help me be as comfortable with the entire process as possible.

I would confidently recommend Mary Stewart to anyone who needs to buy or sell a home or property.  She is wonderful to have working with you - honest, open, fair, and reliable.  She will do her very best to accommodate your unique situation.  I would work with her again in a heartbeat!

Mary did a great job for us - beginning with a very professional market analysis, and lots of good advice about things we could do to make the house show at its best.  She understood our priorities - a quick sale in a falling market - and worked hard to make sure the property received maximum exposure to potential buyers.  The house listed on October 1 and we accepted an offer exactly 4 weeks later (one of several, and above asking price).  Escrow closed the first week of December 2008, a remarkable timeline in an extremely difficult market.
