When inspecting a house our time is yours. We focus on the inspection and do not take phone calls. Wether you are are a first time buyer or long time investor, we will spend the time and the effort to answer your questions. If we don't know the answer to a question or problem, we will do our best to find the correct answer. Most times that means calling the manufacturer to discuss their preferred method of installation.
No home is perfect -- not even a newly constructed houses. As a home inspector it is our job during the inspection to educate the buyer about the property you have asked us to inspect. During the inspection process, we try to point out the good features as well as deficient items that need to be repaired or replaced. The inspection report can help you prioritizing the repair or replacement of deficient items.

Licensing requires each home inspector to obtain at least 6 hours of continuing education credit each year, or 12 CEU for the two years, in order to retain an Illinois License. Since 2003, I have obtained 18 CEU for each two year cycle and completed 27 CEU during the 07/08 cycle.
I am member of the National Association of Home Inspectors and presently serve as a Director for the Illinois Chapter of the National Association Home Inspectors, serving on the membership committee.
Most home inspectors that I have met got into the home inspection business because they like people and want to help them. I am no different. I have taken time away from the business to work as a contract disaster housing inspector for FEMA having worked local disasters in Wisconsin (Flood), Indiana (Ice Storm), Mississippi (Katrina) , and Louisiana (Rita).
Attending the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce meetings allows me to learn about the future of the Grayslake community and its place within the larger community of Lake County. Eight years of being involved with the Grayslake Colt Junior Football Program, as a coach, board member and head videographer, plus a five year stint as videographer for the Grayslake Community High School football teams has given me a feel for the people of the community.
