Q. Hey everyone out there! I have a question or maybe some advice from the masses. I've been a part time realtor for a year and a half. I do ok but must admit it is MUCH harder than I thought to balance a real estate career and a 9 to 5 job. I have very close associations with some of the top realtors in my area who are always gracious enough to let me do open houses and get out there. So my question is what do some of you full timers think. Should I take the plunge and do it full time? Also would love to hear what other part timers think as well.
I always say that if you are interested in pursuing real estate as a career, you have to do it fulltime! Doing it part time will get you part time money! Go fulltime and reap the benefits of this wonderful field!
Hi Ed... I would say that it depends what you want... If you want part time money work part time... If on the other hand you wish to build a lucrative career for yourself them you must go Full-time... with 110% commitment and you must be willing to have it take time for you to reach that goal..
Several years ago one of my sons graduated from Medical School at a cost to us of over $500,000.00. His first year as a Board Certified ER Doc he made less than my top agent. It took him four years to pass her... I tell you this because having taught agents for over 30 years I know for a fact that most fail because they are underfunded and or looking for instant gratification...
By the way that year my top agent cleared $272,000.00 (and change) she had been in the business full time for 6 years... she continues to hover around that number and it did not cost $500,000.00 for a license.. My son had been in school for 10 years before he was positioned to earn dime one!
Any questions feel free to contact me... I love helping agents...
