Q. Hi I would like to know what the standard commission structure is in Tampa? Also, is there dual agency--may an agent represent the buyer and seller in a transaction? thanks!

Real Estate commission is not standard.

As to dual agency, that is no longer a valid term of representation in Florida.

All Realtors are now Transaction Brokers which means they can represent both sides of the transaction in a limited fashion.

The exception is if the transaction is over $1,000,000, then each side can request a SINGLE AGENCY representation.

If you are looking for a Real Estate professional in the Tampa area, please call me tomorrow at 772-834-0099, and we can discuss your needs and find you the best agent that fits your needs.

There is no such animal as a standard commission.  It is a violation of Federal law to establish a standard commission.  Just call any Realtor and ask them how much commission they charge.  That is all you really need to know.

As to agency, It is way to complicated to explain.  What you need to know is this.  If you list your property with XYZ Realty, XYZ Realty can sell it.  In fact XYZ is the most likely Realtor to sell it.
