Sure, if you do the Wash Post online. The paper version doesn't seem to make much sense unless you want to impress your sellers.

A. A much smaller percentage of consumers look to newspapers for open house information. That said, print ads may make sense for some situations. Print ads for vacations homes to catch visitors, or for senior living coomunities. Although that's not a given. My 86 year old Mom is connected. ;)

Claude and Karen,

Thank you so much for answering my question.  It turns out that most people came out to see my open house yesterday, saw my listing from the Redfin web site.

Thank you,

Yukiko

I would recommend anything that has to do with the internet.  Single property websites are great tools to showcase your listing, they are very user friendly. We use ePropertysites.com and CirclePix.com; Real Estate agents, homebuyers, as well as home sellers LOVE the sites!  The best way to market your listings these days is to advertise them on the web!

Good Luck! :)

When I was a "seller" in DC, we used a Realtor to sell our home. Today, I am a Realtor in Santa Fe, NM and all our listing are online in the online versions of the NYTimes and the Wall Street Journal. It is my understanding, the Washington Post carries links to listings on Trulia.com. These are posted there if you have a Realtor representing you. I would recommend you interview several agents in your community for comps and their marketing plans. Many of our sellers, do not want open houses if the home is occupied.
