Q. While I understand there are no "standard" commissions for real estate agents in Missouri, would someone please tell me what the typical range is on both sides of the transaction. In Colorado, for example, the current commissions are typically 2.8 percent for buyer's agent and 3 percent for the listing agent. What is typical these days in Missouri (undertanding that all fees are negotiable)?

A.

The commission agreed upon by the seller & the listing agent ranges between 5 and 10 percent. The listing agent then offers a percentage of their earned commission to the buyer's agent. Most residential listings are offering a 3 or 3.5% commission to buyer's agents now.
