I really like Ixact Contact.  The software is intuitive, the check lists are reasonable.  They will give you a 60 day free trial.  They upload your contacts for you.  They helped me combine my Outlook database with my Yahoo email addresses, a task I have needed to do but dreaded doing for several years.  It is internet based so I can access it from home or office.  It costs about $35 per month, has a built-in monthly newsletter.

I used ACT! for about 10 years, and then tried Top Producer (which was just too unweildy for my taste).

If you end up going there, tell them that Judith Abbott sent you (they reward referrals with a one month free).

Best Wishes!
