ActiveRain Success Stories

Anne M. Costello (Weidel Realtors)
said 5 months ago,"My Active Rain success story began when I attended Rain Camp and re-energized my Active Rain presence. In the past three and a half months, I have started blogging, done a substantial amount of commenting and learned more than I ever thought possible. I work in a small office - by choice - and have found the thing I miss the most is mentoring from more experienced agents. I have found that mentoring hear in The Rain. I learn so much every day on trends, best practices, marketing, inspection issues, photography, short sales, loan products and practices - the list is endless. I have developed a core group of Active Rainers that I follow religiously. I am becoming a better Realtor and am happy to share my knowledge with my colleagues. I hope to give as much as I receive. That will come in time. Thank you Active Rain for the lift that I needed and the push to take my business to a higher level." |

Julia Fordtner (Aspire Realty Group)
said 5 months ago,"I've been able to research Realtors in other states and confidently given referals to people that I'm sure will take care of my people. I'm happy to take referrals, and give a referral fee to, my fellow Realtors. I enjoy the advice in the blogs and love writing about subdivisions I'm familiar with." |

Jack Mossman - The Nines Team in Lodi (The Nines Team Realty)
said 5 months ago,"When I relocated the Team office from one area of the Central Valley to another, I was concerned about visibility in our new service area. I started a unique Rainmaker account for our new location, and in less than 60 days we are receiving unsolicited internet leads; we are in the top 10 in our county and number 2 and featured for our city… all on the new account. ActiveRain helped “put us on the map” … fast! Since we still market in our former location, ActiveRain has allowed us to maintain our marketing traction; top 5 in the county and still number 2 in the city! ActiveRain success … in two cities!" |

said 5 months ago,"Activerain has been fun! I've met people from all over the country and some outside the United States. I've even met a squirrel named Nutsy who sometimes hi-jacks my blogs. Activerain is a place where realtors, home-inspectors, lenders, stagers and other interesting folks come together. Activerain, actually, is still fun!" |

Apple Valley Lake (REMAX Stars Realty)

ActiveRain has become such an important part of our regular marketing that each of our team members and our assistants are utilizing ActiveRain in some form or another. During our first two weeks on ActiveRain we improved our presence with Google and we now are listed in 4 of the top 10 spots on page 1 of Google." |

Virginia Hepp - Mesquite NV MLS - Sun City Mesquite - 55+ Buyer Representative (ERA - Mesquite NV Homes For Sale)
said 5 months ago,"The result of my Active Rain involvement is success. The true success is that I have evolved from a person who had no knowledge of technology to promote her business, to a successful internet marketing pioneer. This incredible journey started with reading a Realtor blog on Active Rain and thinking, "She sounds like me - maybe I can do that, too." I read, I learned, I experimented, I asked questions. The answers to any question I had were right here on Active Rain - in blogs, in comments, in emails and phone calls from members who replied to my direct questions. In emails and phone calls from Active Rain staff. I have learned about internet marketing, real estate laws, loans, ethics, business practices, and people. I am a better real estate agent and take better care of my buyers and sellers." |

said 5 months ago,"ActiveRain has been a great source to me as a new agent to learn and compare new strategies. My blogging is also working. A friend recently came up and mentioned she was searching something on google and found an advertisement for me! That was a Localism post! I am convinced it will only be a matter of time before I start receiving new buyers or sellers from ActiveRain." |

Scott Allan (Weichert Realtors)
said 5 months ago,"I had a single mother of 3 children in dire straits and in distress. She did not want to file bankruptcy because of private matters and repercussions. She was upside down in her home by over $200,000. I was able to secure the short sale of her home for nothing out of her pocket, no deficiency judgment, and had her mortgage company incentivize her with a $3,000 credit at closing to assist in her moving costs." |

Eagle Ridge Realty (Eagle Ridge Realty)
said 5 months ago,"I had a guy call me a few months ago. He found my information on ActiveRain. He was about to close on his house here in the Eagle Ridge Golf Community, an area I specialize in. He had asked his agent for information regarding what utility companies are used, and contact information for them. She did not know, and suggested that he "Look it up on the internet", which is what he did, and he found me! He actually called me after he closed, and thanked me for posting all of the utility information on a blog post, along with the respective links to the various utility companies. He further told me that he thought it was rather odd that his agent did not have this information available. He further mentioned that he wish he had found me earlier, and didn't really have 100% confidence in his agent, who really did not seem to know much about the area, which is probably true, as the agent is from another town, about 30 miles away. So, he said that after his brother visited him, his brother wants to move into the community, and he emailed his brother my website and contact information. I am currently working with the brother. As luck would have it, I am caught in a friendly sibling rivalry, meaning the brother has to buy a bigger and better house (read: more expensive) than what his brother bought... Still working with him, and the perfect property should be on the market soon... Indirectly, I got a client who never knew about ActiveRain, but came about it second hand." |

Mary Lou Skowronski (Prudential California Realty Newport Beach)
said 5 months ago,"Baby Steps… Active Rain taught me how to eat an elephant one bite at a time. My fear of actively engaging with Social Media Marketing became bigger than life. It was something that I knew had to be addressed and yet I kept putting it on the back burner. And then, one fateful day, I was introduced to SMM Camp and ActiveRain weekly instructions which gave me the knowledge needed to get involved. It was there, that I was introduced to RainMaker Boot Camp where you get paired off into small teams of other eager learners who become your support team. Being a visual person and taking most everything literally, I remember the vision I had when I received confirmation that I was invited to the Boot Camp “Team RED” group on the ActiveRain Real Estate Network. Say no more – I was instantly committed to getting ready to tackle Social Media! With my red boots on, I was ready to drink from the fire hose knowing I had my Team Leader and red team members available to lend support. All it took was one baby step to go forward to become a rainmaker." |

Christopher Watters :: Austin Real Estate (512-298-4010) (Watters International Realty, LLC.)
said 5 months ago,"Figuring out this whole blogging thing took awhile. I read success stories on Active Rain with disbelief. I just kept blogging and blogging and commenting and waiting.. and waiting.. I attended Rain Camp Dallas Texas. Listened to the Active Rain webinars. Then it happened! All of the pieces finally fell into place, I finally began understanding how to reach out to consumers online. Not to mention getting my first sale from blogging, which ultimately helped encourage me to continue. A prospect found my blog on ActiveRain. I met with her back in April. She has thus far purchased four properties. I also just recently sold her personal residence. In addition, she referred me to a doctor who wants me to sell four of his duplexes worth over $500k! With persistance and perseverance you will find success on ActiveRain. Thank you ActiveRain!" |

Patricia Feager (Keller Williams Realty)
said 5 months ago,"Although new to ActiveRain Blog, I'm not new to Real Estate. REALTORS® meet the most amazing people, including other REALTORS®. I met Lorrie Semler, an Addison Real Estate Specialist who invited me to join the ActiveRain Real Estate Network, a free and thriving online community for real estate professionals. I'm thrilled that Lorrie shared this valuable BLOG with me so that I can get started to help others, as she helped me. We are ALL created to help one another. The Texas Association of Realtors is a not-for-profit association comprised of more than 90,000 members representing all aspects of real estate in Texas. We advocate on behalf of Texas REALTORS®. I am always willing to help others and equally willing to learn. To learn more about how Texas REALTORS® are advocating for homeowners during the 81st session of the Texas Legislature, visit TexasRealtors.com to view the organization's Legislative Priorities. Staying abreast of issues that impact property taxes, transportation, property appraisal reform, eminent domain and other hot buttons demonstrates to the people we serve that REALTORS® are committed to issues that are important to homeowners. Here's my story, I created life, raised my children, put myself through school graduating from The College of Lake County in Illinois with 173 credits achieving an Associates Degree and three certificates, went on to get a Certificate from the University of Kansas, continued 13 months to achieve a Bachelors Degree with National Louis University, relocated to Dallas in 1997, almost immediately enrolled and graduated from the University of Dallas with a Masters in Business Administration, left Corporate America and became a licensed REALTOR®. From there, I went on to become a Paralegal and never had any doubts that being a Texas REALTOR® is exactly what I was destined to be and really, really wanted to do. I provide you with my educational background not to boast, but to tell you, with all that education behind me, nothing could have prepared me for what life would be like as a REALTOR®. I know now that all those other courses and education was just stepping stones to master the skill of doing it all - serving the people, marketing, advertising, creating a budget, consulting and building relationships, understanding finances, dealing with emotional grief, joy, despair, and happiness. Challenging myself to become technologically savy without depending on others but knowing exactly where to go when I needed help and how to get my needs and other people's needs met. Negotiating, understanding diversity, communicating clearly, speaking and more importantly listening to understand, reading a MAPSCO, programming a GPS, learning about texting, MLS, Short Sales, Foreclosures, First Time Home Buyer Programs, working with relos and Relocation Companies, paying attention to the weather, knowing how to dress professionally and respecting the time and money by supporting people with all different types of needs has taught me the art of PATIENCE. Patience is the key to helping others achieve their goals but you do that with fortitude, honesty and integrity. Setting goals and helping others to achieve their goals is what life is all about. I am PROUD to be a Texas REALTOR®. If there's anything I can do for you, just ask. I'm the Little Realtor that Could." |
