At 44 (she is not shy about her age nor her trademark coif), she wants to be known as " the realtor who understands you may want to live a life of vacation in Miami, not be the one who takes it for you."

It is perhaps this credence that makes Adriana so respected and trusted. Her well-earned credibility in such a competitive industry has allowed her to enjoy a rewarding career. But, in her own words, " I am not in it primarily for me, but firstly for my clients and that is a reward in itself. Otherwise, I should, with emphasis on SHOULD, have chosen a profession that didn't involved people, like being a bean counter or an astrophysicist.

While Adriana specializes in high-end, luxury properties, she doesn't only tend to the "needs of the rich and famous or the quietly wealthy, I cater to the people, not their pockets".

Much to my dismay, as I haven't been able to convince her to advertise herself in any of the magazines I oversee, personal advertising and Adriana Pinto-Torres branding in glossy publications haven't been pivotal in her trade. Sure, she dynamically markets her listings and advertises the properties she represents. But, as for her, most of her clients come to her by word of mouth, recommendation, repeat business and because they remember her striking silver locks.

If I haven't been succesful in my persuasion for her pesonal advertising, much less I have been in getting her to dye her elegantly-streaked platinum mane. It is not that I think she should do so. But, even if I did, she wouldn't anyway. "Color my hair? Are you crazy? Not even my mother can get me to dye it. I have inherited this gray, these canas as they are known in Spanish. Premature gray shouldn't be punished, dumped or ignored. It should be embraced and enhanced. Besides, wouldn't it be foolish for me to hide the experiences, to conceal what is lived and learned?

And, foolish Adriana is not. She may have the energy of someone half her age. She may have the vitality of a kid. However, there is no kidding around when it comes to business and serving her clients.

Her liveliness and commitment to her practice are as bold as her pewter tresses.  She sweats at the Stairmaster by 6:30am every morning while texting her Blackberry away. She hustles to her office before schedule; she handles-one-on-one, phone or Internet transactions in English, Spanish and German; she arranges showings; goes to appointments; attends networking events; creates flyers, email campaigns and promotions; researches the market; collaborates with her peers and still manages to drive 30 miles each way in the Miami infamous traffic to visit her mother -all in the course of one day. And if is that weren't exhausting enough, she takes the time to personally write thank you notes and follow-up letters to her clients. About her day's work, she confesses to me "If I don't have time for my clients, then, they shouldn't give me the time of day".

Proficiency, determination, tenacity, charisma, conviction, discipline, efficiency and results are all words that describe Adriana's method of work. To these accolades, add success - success for the seller or buyer she represents in a transaction as that is what she brings to the table. To boot, there is here incredible charm, her unquestionable magnetism, that X factor (or shall we say Adriana factor)  that commands as much attention as her vibrant hair.

All in all, I must say that real estate for Adriana is as professional as it is personal. "Knowing the market, understanding the value and features of a particular unit or property is as important as understanding the seller or buyer who is concerned with it". And if you knew Adriana, you too will understand why she will never dye her hair. Most importantly, you would not want nor care to give her a bottle of Clairol #9.
