Wind Mitigation Inspections are a valuable inspection service that may reduce your windstorm insurance.Insurance discounts are available for building features that reduce damage during high wind events. The discounts are justified because stronger, more wind-resistive structures have lower windstorm losses, which mean reduced costs to insurance companies. Most existing structures have one or more wind resistive construction features and may qualify for some insurance discounts.
As a State of Florida Certified General Contractor . I can prvide the services you need to address the situation with your local building officials. These are very important issues which should be addressed upon notification! Fines will begin to accumulate and the possibility of a lien may be possible . We will consult with local building officials; Provide as-built drawings (as required by a Licensed Architect) ; Perform Certified Inspections by Licensed Trade Professionals ; providing the structure was up -to the bldg. code at time of construction- a certificate of occupancy. Finally , we will represent the home-owner , possibly reducing the fines assesed on the property.
Due to the recent requirement changes by Citizens Insurance, all commercial insurance recipients are now required to obtain appraisals to determine the replacement costs of all insurable structures for insurance underwriting. These replacement cost appraisals are needed to determine the correct insurable coverage amounts, and must be submitted prior to approval and insurance binding.
We have extensive knowledge of the underwriting guidelines and requirements required by Citizens Insurance's underwriting department. This allows our firm to complete quality reports much quicker than the normal appraisal office.
