I enjoy helping others find property for home, investment, or recreation. My wife and I also own and manage rental units generating significant income and love to help others do the same.

Over the last few years my wife and I have bought and sold over a dozen properties for ourselves including homes for our family, rental properties and recreational properties in out state Minnesota. I've learned a great deal from successful and less than fully successful transactions. I've had recreational property with access issues and pursued other properties where the seller backed out. My wife and I have bought homes in Minneapolis, St. Paul and a number of suburbs. We've bought from individuals, HUD, banks and via short sales.  I've a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and years of experience in software consulting services.  I enjoy using my consulting and technology experience with my engineering training and passion for real estate to help people find homes and investments that work for them.  In all transactions, honesty, integrity, and diligence are imperative.

Experience

I've a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and have 15 years of consulting services experience focused mostly on Oracle Enterprise Content Management based solutions. I'm a certified project manager (PMP). I've been president of my congregation and president of a home owner's association. I've got a wide variety of interests and experiences including a significant amount of both interest and expertise writing contracts. All these things work together to enable me to be a effective, professional agent for my clients.

Biggest real estate challenge

My wife and I bought two town houses in a distressed association almost three years ago where the developers hadn't turned the association over to the home owners. They were headed to and are currently in federal prison for major mortgage fraud and had only plowed once the winter before and garbage pickup had stopped for 6 weeks for non-payment. I knocked on doors and searched the county property tax records to ID the current owners (at least those that weren't banks which were a significant percentage) and organized an owners meeting to take over the association. At this 1st meeting, a contractor showed up who had been contracted to replace all roofs and siding throughout the development on a storm damage claim. We negotiated with him to cancel his contract and we later found he had stiffed another association in almost exactly the same situation by getting the 1st half check and disappearing. I'm still president of this association and happy to report that it's now healthy.
