About Us:
American Eagle Auction Company is a full-time and full-service auctioneering and appraisal company that specializes in converting your personal assets to cold hard cash within a short period of time through a competitive auction sale.
With nearly two decades of sole proprietorship in the sales, auctioneering, marketing and event promotions industry, company president and certified real estate and personal property auctioneer and appraiser Kenny Lindsay delivers a wealth of experience and reputation to the skilled trade of professional auctioneering.
Unlike the majority of auctioneers in the State of Michigan, Lindsay took a giant step within the auctioneering trade and attended the Continental School of Auctioneering in Mankato, Minnesota and received his auctioneering and appraising certification. In addition, Lindsay regularly attends conferences, workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments in the rapidly advancing and changing auctioneering field.
Lindsay has written numerous educational articles on a variety of collecting subjects including investigative reports in the field of autographs, selling trends and also conducted a one hour lecture and educational seminar on the topic of 'Collectible Investments'.
Lindsay is a recognized expert in the auction industry. He is a monthly compensated columnist for the National Auctioneers Association, 'Auction World' publication. Lindsay was also appointed to write a regular column for the Michigan State Auctioneers Association quarterly publication, 'The Gavel' and the publication for the Ohio Auctioneers Association.
Over the course of two decades, Lindsay has organized and promoted 20 successful major trade conventions in addition to exhibiting at approximately 250 sports memorabilia conventions throughout the Midwest since 1985. To add to his versatility in the antiques and collectibles industry, Lindsay has maintained a section at prestigious Knightsbridge Antiques in Northville, Michigan and Town & Country Antiques in Livonia, Michigan. As a professional auctioneer and appraiser, such hands on experience gained from being directly involved in the business is critical to understanding antiques and collectibles and how to promote and represent such items at auction.
In 1991, Lindsay's knowledge and leadership skills were recognized publicly when he was featured on an internationally broadcast television program hosted by Detroit's WJR reporter, Dennis Neubacher. Lindsay has also been a guest on numerous nationally and locally syndicated radio programs.
With a combination of live, silent and Internet auctions, Lindsay has conducted over 2,500 auctions and was nationally recognized in the December 2000 issue of eBay magazine as one of the world's top 'Power Sellers'.
Lindsay's auctioneering team was requested to conduct the live auction for the prestigious MBGHA annual banquet in April of 2000 near Detroit, Michigan. After countless hours of a well structured marketing and auction plan, the MBGHA was overwhelmed to report the finest and most successful money making auction in the association's 16 year history! This is just one of the many accolades that Lindsay's company has accomplished.
In recent history, Lindsay has been internationally recognized with being awarded a highly acclaimed auctioneering package through the National Auctioneers Association in addition to receiving international media attention on a strategically advertised auction pertaining to celebrity memorabilia and has been interviewed and/or mentioned by both national and local media agencies including the Detroit News and Free Press, Chicago Sun Times, ESPN, Tampa Tribune, CNN and more.
Lindsay's firm dominated the 2006 Michigan State Auctioneers Association marketing competition by winning awards in five different divisions including the highly prestigious 'AUCTION OF THE YEAR AWARD'. There are thousands of auctions throughout the State of Michigan on any given year. This award is considered the most prestigeous of all auction awards in the industry.
In March 2006, Lindsay was accepted into the highly esteemed CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana to pursue the highest possible designation possible in the auction industry. Auctioneers with the CAI designation are part of an extraordinary network of exemplary auctioneers in the auction profession. Only 850 auctioneers in the United States and Canada hold the prestigious CAI designation since the institute was established in 1976. Lindsay is expected to graduate the three part executive development program in 2008.
On the national front, Ken Lindsay received the ultimate honor in being nominated to the Presidential Advisory Committee by National Auctioneers Association, President, William Sheridan. In January 2006, Lindsay was appointed to the Michigan State Auctioneers Association newsletter and public relations commitee by active President, Dave Helmer.
Lindsay's contributions to the following nonprofit fundraising auctions include; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Rick Larimore Memorial, Michigan Big Game Hunters Association, DeLeon Annual Scholarship Fundraiser, Make- A- Difference (MAD), 4H , Betty Loher Leukemia Fundraiser, Northville Pre-School, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Hospital's of Michigan, Stepping Stone, American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Douglas Kruszewski Memorial, Let the Children Play, The Great Lakes Coca~Cola Collectors Club and several others throughout the years.

- Harry Baker, Girlstown Foundation
"Ken's professionalism, sparkling sense of humor, and vast knowledge were very well received and entertaining for our audience. He contributed greatly to increasing the bidding price for our live auction items, thus helping us earn more money for our playground."
- Lindsey Smither, Principal, Lakes Elementary School
"...Prominent dealers and collectors have applauded Lindsay's efforts and called him a hero. The hobby needs more honest dealers like Lindsay who have the guts to go after the scam artist who are threatening the whole segment of the hobby."

".....in a relatively short time you were able to pull together advertisements in key publications, send out more than 1,000 postcards to prospective bidders, create an auction video, conduct an extensive telephone campaign and generate substantial exposure on the Internet. Of course the crowning touch was the national publicity you generated with the press release ...............
"The attendance at the auction exceeded our expectations and the proceeds generated were in line with our estimates. It was particularly satisfying to see that the high value items consistently brought in as much or more than we anticipated, and that all items were liquidated. - Paul Cogley, ASA (Wychovia Bank Representative)
"Ken does a super job of presentation!"- Jerry Davie, Former Detroit Tigers pitcher
"You guys were great! I have never seen an auctioneer work the crowd so hard like you did."- Nancy Mooney, St. Joseph Parish, Howell, Michigan
"I didn't get a chance to talk with you at the end of the auction last week! We had a great time...and you did a great job! We raised $3,000 that I know we could have not done with out you! Thanks for your assistance and I bet we will see you again next year."- Kim Spinelli, Vice President, National City Bank (Brighton Chamber of Commence Luncheon)
"Mr. Lindsay,
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your part in making our first auction a great success. Many of our guests had never attended an auction and your easy and approachable manner, humor, and professionalism allowed everyone to have a comfortable and fun experience while contributing to the overall financial success of our school.
I also thought you should know how appreciative we were for your handling of our guests. As a Christian school it was a step of faith to "trust" you with a microphone in front of our parents, teachers, students, and friends of our school.
We are so thankful for the people that approached Lisa Rance (Vanna) and myself to express how much they enjoyed your skill and humor and wanted to know if you would be back again next year!
Thanks again and may God bless you with health and wisdom."
-Kent Darcie, Director of Development and Finance, Macomb Christian Schools
