How does your mortgage broker/banker make you a better agent?  Does he market you to the people most likely to use you based on a referral.  Does he send you updates to add value to your business?  Does he send out recommendation letters for you to potential clients? When the escrow closes does he put together a homebuyers package that includes all the pertinent information including your contact info?  I do. 

These are just a few things that are a part of my ongoing marketing plan to make you a better agent.  It's the little things that in this market will set me a part, and will help you close more deals. Why give your business to an inhouse broker when all you get is a thanks in return.  I become a part of your business model to help you grow and retain more clients.

Most of the agents I talk to tell me the biggest problem they have is borrowers falling out of escrow.  The majority of problems can be avoided just by simply taking a full application so that all angles are covered.  You'd be surprised how often loan officers neglect to take a full application.  Whether it's through inexperience, or laziness starting the process with all the correct and pertinent information may save you weeks, and in some cases months of wasted time.    Regardless of your client's qualifications, product knowledge of available loans and their guidelines can make the difference in getting the deal done.  I pride myself on knowing the products better than the individual bank reps.
