Testimonials

Dear Amy,

I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you what a fabulous job you did for us. Jana and I feel that we just have the worst luck at picking houses with the worst owners, but you saw us through it.
You are right when you say "trust is essential" on you Web site and trust is what you evoked from Jana and me.
My only regret was that we didn't list our previous house with you as well. I feel like half of my stress came from my own listing broker and the first time you had to step in and straighten her out, we knew we had made a mistake not listing with you.
You are knowledgeable, direct, trustworthy, professional and above all a friend. The two things I came away saying were "I couldn't have done it without her" and "I'll never buy a house without a buyer broker like her".
I tend to be much more emotional and get caught up in the stress than Jana but you were always there for both of us. For emotional support or to do the butt-kicking people needed you were always ready to go.
  You truly are the best.

Dear Amy,
We realize this thank you is long overdue, but we want you to know that we truly appreciate all of your help throughout the process of buying our first home.
You were always there to answer even the most basic questions, and you were extremely persistent at pursuing any overdue or difficult issues. Thank you, too, for helping with research on the location of homes, drainage issues, mortgage options, etc. - we could go on and on!
We wouldn't have been able to go through this process as smoothly if it weren't for you. Even though it was tough toward the end, you were always there to listen or make extra calls, and that really made a difference to us.
We believe that you are an excellent real estate agent and we will certainly call again if we find ourselves looking for home number two! We've already sung your praises to friends and are sure that your new business will be a success! Thank you again!

Amy,
When we decided to buy a home, we interviewed Buyer's Brokers, because we knew that we wanted an agent that would be an advocate for our interests.
We learned that there are many buyer's brokers who claim buyer's broker representation, but don't really do anything differently when representing you. In fact, one person we interviewed said that he is a buyer's broker, but he really didn't understand why anyone would want a buyer's broker. That attitude seems to be a very common attitude, especially in large real estate agencies.

A buyer's Broker should:

  •  Go beyond a normal broker in understanding what your goals are, and what home would be the best for you.
  •  Push for your interests in the negotiations.
  •  Provide you with reputable connections to legal and financial services.
  •  Do the proper background checks on the property and surrounding neighborhood and inform you of anything they find.
  •  Provide counseling to make sure your purchase is right for you

Most real estate agents will swear that they're doing these things, but do not. Their primary goal is to make a sale. A buyer's broker with the proper training and attitude takes your interests to heart.
Amy is one of the rare buyer's brokers who really understands what a buyer's broker's responsibilities are. She performs her job with tremendous integrity. She is also one of the few "wired" professionals I've dealt with. We did 90% of our work with her over the Internet, which made the purchase of our home painless time-wise. She was amazing when she showed us homes. Virtually every home we saw we loved. There was never a time in our work together that I thought she wasn't working 100% for our interests.
It only takes an investment of one day and a telephone to talk to 3 or 4 buyer's brokers and compare them. I would advise anyone interested in buying a home to do this. Make sure you include Amy in your list.
