Swiedler & Adams

In 2011 things changed. My (former) broker, Liddy Adams, merged her company (Prudential Adams & Associates, REALTORS) with Prudential Connecticut Realty. This gave Liddy and I the unique opportunity to form a team, Swiedler & Adams. A very excititng time indeed! Then came the office in Litchfield, CT. We split our time between the New Milford office of Prudential Connecticut Realty and the Litchfield office of Prudential Connecticut Realty. We are now able to cover more of Litchfield County easier than before! And working together as a team means we can give you more real estate knowledge, more time, more attention, more, more and more.

A bit about Andrea Swiedler, Realtor

I came to visit a friend here in the New Milford, CT area 30 years ago and never left! My husband is a ballet master from Russia, we have 2 wonderful grandsons and 2 daughters who live local. Life is always an adventure.

After working the health care field for many years I made the transition to real estate more than 10 years ago and never looked back, selling real estate has been a very rich and rewarding experience. I have met the most amazing people, it has been a pleasure to help people buy and sell real estate here in Litchfield County.

Photography is a great passion of mine. Taking pictures of the amazing views we have here in Litchfield county is easy, there is just so much to see, so much eye candy to share with everyone. You can take a peek at some of my work here in my Picasa web albums. I also love farming, cows are my favorite. There are so many farms in this area for me to take pictures of, as well as cows, so life is good!

2011 was my ninth year representing my fellow Realtors® on the Greater New Milford Board of Realtors®. I have served as President for three terms, Secretary, State Director, Director, and twice as Vice President. Helping to shape the future of real estate in this area is important to me and I thoroughly enjoyed serving on the board. After 9 years it was time to step down and focus my efforts on the newly formed team of Swiedler & Adams.

A bit about my business partner, Lisabeth "Liddy" Adams, GRI, Broker Associate

(In her own words) In 2012, I will have had my Real Estate License for 25 years, can you believe that? I can't! I was working for an accountant at the time, doing his Client billing and files. He had a Real Estate Broker's license and put together some transactions from time to time. One day he mentioned would I like to come on a previewing appointment with him? Sure! So we looked at a couple of homes, and the he said “You know, you would be really good at this, selling homes. You've got the gift of relating to people and really hearing what they are saying. Plus, I think you would find it fun” So off I went. Took the course, studied for the exam, took the test – and waited, and waited, and waited. That was back in the day when the tests were administered on paper and you used a #2 pencil to color in the circles. I waited 6 weeks to find out that I passed. That seems like such a long time ago, yet in many ways, not so long ago. Things sure have changed in our industry in 25 years and I have worked very hard to keep up with the trends, practices, and policies.

I grew up in the small town of Washington, Connecticut. Everyone knew everybody else, where they lived, who was related to whom, what kind of car they drove, etc. It was a great place to grow up, and to this day, even though I have lived in other parts of the country for different periods of time, I have maintained close contact with childhood friends and families. I currently live back in Washington, and even though things have changed here quite a bit dynamics-wise, I am happy and lucky to be back in my hometown. I volunteer for several organizations and boards, and hold 2 elected positions within the Town governmental infrastructure. I believe that “giving back” in various ways is extremely important, especially at the small town level, because so many of our community benefits are a direct result of volunteerism.
