About Austin REALTOR® Sam Chapman
I've lived in the Lakeway/Lake Travis since 1987 and know the area well. Prior to real estate I spent four years substitute teaching in all Lake Travis ISD schools. If you have kids and want school information, I can help. Before that I had 18 years with Kinko's as a Branch Manager, Regional Operations Manager and Founding Shareholder. In addition ro listing and being a buyer's anent for residential real estate, I have been involved lately in ranch property for major developers. This is a very interesting thing to be involved in as it is all about who you know. Most of this land isn't on the market in a visible sense. Growing up in a military family, I have seen more of this country than most people ever will. By the age of 12, I had been in every state except Hawaii. I have lived in Texas (six times), Massachusetts (twice), Michigan, New Hampshire and Alaska. Although my experience in Alaska was phenominal, Austin is the greatest place I have lived. My kids were both born here and have never lived anywhere else and I wouldn't have it any other way.
My passion is helping people. I approach real estate that way. I also approach my community that way. As a former Vice President and member of the Lakeway - Lake Travis Rotary Club, one of the responsibilites I have taken on has been being the Rotary liaison to the Lake Travis High School Interact Club. Interact is a community service club and the LTHS Interact Club has done some great things.
I am also very involved with the American Cancer Society. I have been involved in the Relay For Life of Lake Travis since 2002, chairing the event several years. Relay is an awesome event. There are three main purposes that we hold Relay: to honor cancer survivors, their families and care givers; to educate people about and raise awareness of cancer; and to raise money to fund research to find a cure.
