Barrington IL Real Estate For Sale – Equestrian, Luxury, Absen

All About Corinne

Barrington Realtor Corinne Guest owns and manages her own Barrington located boutique brokerage - Barrington Realty Company – her goal being very personalized service and care. Corinne is a full time Barrington Realtor and is passionate about helping her absentee home owners and vacant property home owners maximize the value of their properties on sale by going the extra mile when she lists them for sale. Her regular visits ensure the homes are presented in tip top condition at all times, and reports to sellers that everything is OK with their homes in their absence. Corinne uses online technology to market the homes and digital signing software for all seller and buyer paperwork. Sellers can hire Corinne to manage the project and need never come to town.

Corinne also specializes in the equestrian property market in Barrington, a natural location of horse properties due to the larger acreage and zoning that allows horses and farms. Her recent sales include an absentee owner or a horse farm in unincorporated Barrington and a horse property buyer in North Barrington.

Because Corinne lives in Barrington she's not intimidated by the luxury market. There's nothing different about marketing luxury homes she says, they all deserve to receive the maximum online presence available. It's something she finds lacking in most higher end property listings in the Barrington area and aims to make sure her luxury home seller clients understand all that she does to give their homes the online exposure needed in a market where there are not as many buyers.

When Corinne is not with clients you'll find her at the computer. She has pretty much got the art of marketing online fine tuned, and sees populating her web site and social media outlets with community information and real estate data not as a chore but as a challenge and fun (She is a bit of a internet geek). Corinne writes on 5 blogs, all written for the benefit of her clients and all with very specific information for each market she serves.

Of course she is still a wife and Mom first and the kids know if they need her, she'll be there for them. She's an animal lover, currently with the least amount of pets the family has ever had at 3 cats. Another activity always on the go in the Guest household is automobiles. From maintenance to race cars and bikes, it's a daily activity for her son and husband.

On rare occasions Corinne has time to get some gardening done or go for a relaxing walk.

All About Barrington Illinois

Barrington is associated with horses and affluence. But don't let that fool you. There is much more here than luxury homes and equestrian property!

Barrington Illinois is a small villagelocated in Cook and Lake Counties situated about 35 miles northwest of the city of Chicago. The commute to Chicago is about an hour by train on Metra Line, or drive down Barrington Road south to I-90 which takes you right into the city. Visitors coming from out of state or country, will fly into Chicago's O'Hare airport, arguably the busiest airport in the world!

Barrington is part of an area that includes several villages including South Barrington - North Barrington - Barrington Hills - Lake Barrington -  Tower Lakes - Deer Park and part of Inverness. Each village has the same countryside type feel but also offers a variety of living styles and things to do. Covering about 90 square miles of land, much of which is open space and forest preserve, travelling from top to bottom can take 30 minutes and yet you will still be driving through what feels like the countryside and it is so different from the surrounding villages. There is an abundance of parks, you'll find walking and cycling paths, many subdivisions have baseball diamonds, basketball half courts, tennis courts and play sets for the youngsters.

Lake Barrington is home to the new sports center complex, the largest building is known as The Field House. Sports and fitness for all, tournaments and birthday parties, the Field House is already a very popular venue. It is registered as a not for profit organization provided for the community. South Barrington also has the South Barrington Tennis & Swimming Club.

Barrington Illinois is home to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital which has a Level II Trauma ER Center and one of Illinois' best Cardiac Centers, amongst 35 other specialty services.

The Arboretum is South Barrington's new shopping mall with specialty stores and calendar full of activities. Deer Park IL also has a shopping mall with specialty stores and has seen continued success since opening over 10 years ago. Both offer fun Christmas activities for the kids.

Barrington Illinois is home to six golf courses. Makray Golf Course is open to the public, previously known as Thunderbird it was completely redesigned in 1999 and a fabulous new club house built. If you don't play golf, you can enjoy lunch or dinner here instead! The Gated Community of Wynstone in North Barrington has a course that was designed by Jack Nicklaus, this is a members only club as is the Golf Course located in the Gated Community of Lake Barrington Shores. The fourth is Stonehenge Golf Course in Lake Barrington another members only club and one I understand with a long waiting list. The fifth is Barrington Hills Country Club and the last is located in Biltmore in North Barrington - a country club established in 1926 and another exclusive members only club.

Barrington is known for well scoring academics in the schools - Whether they are good or not is a very subjective conversation so always do your own due diligence. What is good for one family may not be so for another.

Barrington Illinois WildlifeNature abounds in Barrington - We have a lot of forest preserve and open spaces and so we see a lot of wildlife and birds. Sand Hill Cranes arrive every spring and spend 8 months here. Deer are here year round, as are Raccoons, Coyote and many different birds, our state bird is the cardinal. Of course Canadian Geese are here, Swans and many types of Ducks. I have photographed Cormorants, Hawks and have even had an owl on a tree in our yard.

What about the weather? We have 4 seasons, 2 long and 2 short. Summers can be long and hot up to the 90's with very little rain although recently they have been more temperate. Winters can be quite cold and we do get about 20 inches of snow every year. Spring is wonderful as our area returns to green and fall is pretty with maple colors and welcome breezes. Some say spring and fall are short because we seem to leap in and out of them very quickly.

Chicago is know as the Windy City, but in fact Milwaukee has more wind then we do! Talking of snow, if you want to learn to Ski, just over the state line north into Wisconsin is a place called Wilmot Mountain. Not really a mountain but a great place to start skiing or snow boarding.

Fox River Grove - Not Barrington but the next village over has a ski jump - It towers into the sky and when the snow arrives you can watch the insane guys and girls walk up the jump and then come literally flying through the air. They even do it in July as a dry slope. Next to that is a Balloon launch for hot air balloons, called Windy City Balloons. You can watch or ride.

Barrington's Villages & The Real Estate

A Newer Lake Barrington home on 1 acreRelocate to Barrington Illinois - Whether coming for a year or staying longer, you'll find peace and tranquility here, literally steps away from the hustle and bustle. Our real estate is diverse and covers price ranges form $100,000 up to $15 Million. You can find condos, townhomes, gated communities, property on acreage, vacant lots, luxury homes and even Victorian style village property.

  • North Barrington is home to Wynstone -  The Gated Community and Golf Course subdivision of approximately 400 homes, mostly single family and luxury homes. Other areas include Biltmore, Saddlebrook and Timberlake, older areas with a variety of mostly single family homes on an acre or more.
  • Lake Barrington is home to Lake Barrington Shores a 1300+ gated community of condos and townhomes designed around a lake, and golf course for low maintenance living amongst towering trees. There are a number of small subdivisions with an average 4 bedroom home on an acre or more, some of which are less than 10 years old.
  • Barrington Hills - If you've got horses or want sprawling lots with rolling hills and dales, this is the place for you. Homes here are on 5 or more acres, some properties are 50 years old but there is plenty of space for new construction and Barrington Hills is an area where luxury homes are being built.
  • South Barrington - Long considered the most luxurious of the Barrington's - and now home to Barrington's only over 55 community in The Woods of South Barrington - a new Toll Brothers community is currently in it's last phase of construction. The Woods of South Barrington also has luxury single family homes. Magnolia Point is a small enclave of luxury homes on acre lots with prices up to $6,000,000 or more. Property is typically single family homes with a minimum start price of $600,000. If you want expansive homes in a gated community, Hidden Lakes is worth looking although there are not many homes to choose from, it seems residents like their privacy!
  • Deer Park Illinois - A community of about 1000 homes most are 3 to 4 bedroom single family homes built in the 70's and 80's although a few newer homes exist. Deer Park Estates is a new Red Seal Development of townhomes within walking distance of the Deer Park Shopping Mall.
  • The Village of Barrington has all kinds of real estate from condos, townhomes, older homes and even Victorian or Colonial style properties.
  • Tower Lakes is the most northerly part of Barrington and is one of the smallest villages with single family homes on half to 1 acre lots.
  • Inverness. A village in it's own right Inverness shares the same zip code as Barrington for half of the community. The other half shares Palatine's zip code. Another area home to luxury properties and executive townhomes at Weatherstone.
  • New construction. There has been much activity of tearing down older homes and building new in the last years but this has slowed down of late. Some of the homes in the village were built in the early 1900's. Buyers like to be able to walk to the local shops, the Catlow Theater or to the Metra station to commute downtown.

There really are so many options when buying a home in Barrington. Buyers also consider some of the property in Barrington for investment purposes. There is a good selection of luxury homes, ready to move into or rent out, or even as second homes. If you are looking for a home away from home, want all the luxurious features you are used to, and want to be somewhat remote from the outside world, I've got just the right homes to show you!

Barrington Illinois Foreclosures - Yes, we do have Foreclosure Properties on the market in Barrington but not as many as some might think. Barrington has been somewhat immune to foreclosures. Many foreclosed homes in Barrington are under contract in less than 1 week and sell over asking price, competition is tough, especially for those in good condition and with great locations. There are more short sales available in Barrington IL than foreclosures, but again offers  to buy need to be good to be considered and do not expect a quick answer.

Testimonials

Wow Corinne, You have been amazing. I met Corinne just by browsing the web. After entering her very professional and detailed website, we received an email and soon she became our REALTOR.

Corinne has been with us throughout our 1.5 year (what we thought was going to be never-ending) house search. Before we could even recognize the type of house we needed, she was on top of the game. In fact she advised us to wait and not just purchase for the sake of purchasing. In my mind I was thinking, "What kind of REALTOR does not want to earn money on the sale?" But later I realized that she wanted what was best for us. As she has gone through construction with her own properties, she was able to give us personal insight on things we did not even think about.

After looking at many houses, finally there was one house that really caught our eye. Right away she recognized this and began to work on acquiring this house for us. She was perseverant but never pushy. Besides all of this she is a very down to earth and realistic person. She wanted us to be comfortable with our purchase from a financial standpoint as well. Given the recent troubles with the real estate market, this was very important to us.

Corinne, Veerpal and I are grateful for the advice you gave to us. Every day we are enjoying our new home and we know that this was possible because of your hard work. You were very patient with us, and I thank you for that. You are the REALTOR who knows the ins and outs of the Barrington area and my number one recommendation for anyone who is buying a house in this area.

Hi Corinne:

Holly and I know real estate brokers/agents and you, Mrs. Guest, are no real estate broker----at least in terms of the common perception. A guru? Possibly. An advisor? Definitely. Hopefully, even a friend.

If our experience with you is indicative of the manner in which you deal with your clients (and we are sure it is) you are going to give real estate brokers a good name

Holly and I hope to convey our heartfelt thanks for your assistance and guidance. As you know, our Lake Barrington search spanned three years and four buyer's agents and we both feel you were a major element in allowing us to reach a successful conclusion. Not only were you always available and patient, but alone among the buyer's agents we worked with, you actually listened to and acted upon what we wanted. Never did we feel (as we did with other agents) any push to action so that you might earn your commission, nor did you ever seek to push your own sensibilities regarding any prospect. Yet, when we did seek your opinion, you always provided reasoned and incisive advice.

We will definitely ensure that everyone we know is aware of your talent. If we can be of service to you by acting as a reference for future clients, please don't hesitate to use our contact information

Thank you also for the picture of the new addition to your crane family. Holly is so taken with the photo, she is considering enlarging and framing it!

Again, thanks for everything.

Corinne exceeded all expectations we had of a realtor. We chose Corinne because she specialized in the location where we wanted to focus our home search: her comprehensive knowledge of Barrington and the surrounding Northwest suburbs served us well. As we toured homes in different locations (and we looked in a lot of locations), she shared logistical and histroical information on each neighborhood. We were - and remain - impressed not only with her patience and willingness to assist on our many home tours, but also with her proactive approach and recommendations that ensured we remained focused on our requirements and budget.

After choosing our home, Corinne has continued to be a valued resource for all the little things to help us become acclimated in our new environment: utlilities, locals vets, cleaning services, etc.

Corinne is truly one of the greatest assets available for anyone in need of a dedicated partner in finding their next home.

Hello,

I have known Corinne Guest for a little over a year. After searching long and hard for a realtor, I found Corinne Guest's website. Her website impressed me and looked very professional. She had many properties that were designated horse properties and my property had strengths as a horse property. During a visit to Illinois I set up an appointment to meet Corinne and to go over to the property.

Even in this unpredictable market Corinne was optimistic that we could find a buyer. We signed papers and listed the property. I am an out of state owner, and Corinne has been extremely helpful during the entire process. She worked with my tenant, and when the time came she was ready with an attorney. She has been diligent and communicative. She is not afraid to do what is needed to complete a sale.

She is very professional and although I do not have another house to sell, in the Barrington area, I would recommend her to anyone needing to list a house there. Thank you.

I understand the Real-estate business. My Mother was a Broker in River Forest, IL for over 20, years; my father-in-law owned a Real-estate office in Illinois his entire life. I screened 5 people in the Barrington area and picked Corinne Guest. Her knowledge of the market and how to do the deal is excellent. Her follow through was impeccable; nothing matters more than someone who knows, watching your interests as the transaction/deal gets done.
