A Time Saving Tool for Homeowners - by a homeowner
The Showing Beacon was created by a home owner that was incredibly frustrated with the home showing process. The mother and her kids were asked to leave the house for a couple of hours while it could be shown. Hanging out in a local park in freezing weather or playing "stalk the showing agent" by circling the block was huge hassle. All the owner really wanted was a simple call when the showing was over so she could get back to her life.
This simple idea led to the Showing Beacon. Why not provide a simple device in the home that the showing agent could use to contact the homeowner. Once the buyer's agent is finished touring the home, they simply push the button on the beacon on their way out of the house. The Showing Beacon can sit on a counter or hang on the inside of the door... so it can't be missed.
Of course, if the seller's agent is showing the home a call will be made immediately by the agent. Only when the buyer's agent is showing the home is the Beacon needed... the seller gets notified and the showing agent doesn't have to slow down.
How it works
The Showing Beacon consists of two units and requires only a simple set-up on the website. The base unit is a small box that plugs into a live phone line (the phone is then plugged into the base unit). The Remote unit can be placed anywhere in the home (usually near the front door). When the showing is over, the button is pushed and a signal is sent from the remote unit to the base unit. The base unit then calls a toll free number and notifies us of its unique identifier. Our servers look up the telephone numbers and email address associated with that identifier (previously entered on teh website) and starts dialing. Within a few minutes up to two calls and two text messages are sent.Who it's for
The Showing Beacon is great for homeowners that work out of their house, anyone with pets and especially great for mothers with young children. Agents can purchase it for their clients (and move it to the next listing after the home is sold) or a homeowner can purchase it directly.
What's it cost?
The Showing Beacon unit (base, remote, batteries, door hanger, phone cord and placard) costs less then US $40. The first home you put it in is free for the life of the listing ... and when you need to use it again it's only $20 for the next home.
