The Humboldt County Visitor Center stated that people come to visit Humboldt County to see the Redwood Trees, but once they get here they realize that we have so much more to offer.
Humboldt county is settled between San Francisco and the Oregon border. Just a 5 hour drive from San Francisco and maybe 2 1/2 hours drive from the wine country. Humboldt County is still one of the last affordable coastal areas to live in the state of California. It boasts incredible Redwood Forests, Pristine Rivers, Beautiful Sand Dunes, Historical Architecture, it's own wine vineyards, and great FRESH seafood!
It's perfect for the outdoor enthusiast: great hiking on many of its coastal or inland trails, great for birdwatching, river/bay/ocean kayaking, surfing, hunting, fishing just to mention a few.
We have an incredible art and music community too, tons of festivals including Godwit Days for the birder in you, Oyster Festival for the oyster lover in you, plus several weekly Farmer's Markets and don't forget about Arts Alive once a month.
Where else can you get fresh seafood right off the docks? - Tuna, Wild Salmon, Oysters, and Dungeanous Crab!
Plus we have some of the modern conveniences that many require- Borders Bookstore, Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Natural Food and Specialized Food Stores as well as quaint local stores with lots of appeal.
So really, we're not as remote as you think! Want to know more about what Humboldt County has to offer? Call me at 707-496-5770 or shoot me an email by clicking on that email link at the top of my profile.
