At Real Living we know that real estate is changing and we're excited to be leading this change!
If you ask us our mission, we'll tell you, it's clear: To change the face of residential real estate by building a national, full-service agent/broker centric company. We understand the Internet has forever changed the way consumers buy and sell homes, and how they work with real estate agents. In the ever-evolving world of real estate, we know that real estate agents need their brokers to provide more marketing, technology, sales and training support than ever before. Why? To help them work smarter, not harder and help them meet the ever-changing needs of homebuyers and sellers; and increase their productivity-so they can focus on the things they love doing most.
That's why, as a full-service real estate company, Real Living is pioneering new business solutions to provide quick, convenient access to everything our franchisees and real estate agents need to successfully run their businesses. And because of our reputation as a forward-thinking company, our national footprint continues to grow.
Our Heritage: In November, 2009, Brookfield Residential Services merged GMAC Real Estate and Real Living together to build upon both already established franchise networks. Go forward, the Real Living brand will persist throughout the US. To understand Real Living as a franchisor it is best to begin with some insight into of all three companies involved with the merger.
Brookfield Residential Services: Brookfield Asset Management Inc. is an organization focused on property, power and infrastructure with over $90 Billion of assets in management. This financially stable organization boasts a portfolio of powerhouse real estate brands including Royal LePage, LeCapitale and Johnston and Daniel in Canada, and Real Living Real Estate and GMAC Real Estate in the US. Additionally, Brookfield owns and operates the second largest global relocation service company and via the merger with Real Living is making a significant investment in the US, one which will lead to growth and a superior marketing and technology platform for the network.
GMAC: The GMAC real estate brand was launched in 1999 with the acquisition of Better Homes and Gardens. Today, it is a network of prominent real estate brokerages who embrace common values principles and practices of Premier Service. GMAC brokerages will be converting and re-branding to Real Living throughout 2010.
Real Living: The Real Living Brand was launched in 2002 with the merger of three large real estate firms in Ohio. The founding companies within Real Living have deep roots in the business dating back to 1956. In 2002, the new organization had an opportunity to build a new, fresh and unique brand that would unify the three brokerages. And, an opportunity to build a brand with agent and consumer appeal that would fuel a growth and franchising effort nationally. Prior to the aforementioned merger, Real Living had franchise offices throughout 20 states.
Real Living is the brand which is being carried forward for the combined entity. The franchise and agent value proposition has been enhanced for both networks as the best of the best from both GMAC and Real Living were combined to create the best and one of the largest real estate franchises in the US.
