Big ticket listing - 11:18 PM
I've just received a $1.5 mil listing in Lake Tahoe by being a co-listing agent with my partners in California. That kind of stuff is possible through ILS membership. It's my first, that's so expensife, and I am not sure what's the best way to advertise it. I am not counting MLS, flyers and newsletters. I was thinking to put it in some paper or magazine that would be seen by possible buyers who can actualy afford it........ and I feel like I am slightly drawing blank... Is there any suggestions anybody can give me from personal experience? Or perhaps anyone has (2 comments)
But do they really work? - 12:43 PM
I, like a lot of Realtors, have reciprocal links at the foot of my website. But do they work? I get more leads from Open House signs and from ActiveRain than from anything else. So, should I nuke the endless list of graphics and links to directories that I have on my home page? I wonder what the 'Rainers" think? I'm listed on a few Hawaii specific sites such as Hawaii Search and Best Places Hawaii because I think if someone is really interested in visiting Hawaii, they'll be more interested in looking a sites that are focused on Hawaii than some (3 comments)
A Reminder from Madame Pele! - 10:38 PM
We just had an earthquake! Yup - we do get earthquakes in Hawaii. This one occurred at 17:26 and as far as I can tell it was felt here in Kona and all the way up to Waikoloa. Don't know the magnitude or location as yet. The last one we had here in Kona was centered in the Ocean just off Kailua Bay. Did you know that we have a Volcanic Activity Disclosure for Vog and Lava here on the Big Island. I'll talk about this in one of my future Hawaii FYI articles. Aloha (2 comments)
Home-buying plans lowest since 1990 - 07:08 PM
Attitudes have changed about home buying and according to Inman News the actual number of home buyers remained low in August, falling to the lowest level since 1990. Overall consumer confidence remains weak, but the pace of decline slowed significantly in late August from the July level. The overall confidence rebound was mainly due to the decline in gas prices since the start of August. Will Consumer confidence pick up? I certainly jope so! (0 comments)

It has been bugging me all day. Why don't they like me? What did I do wrong? Am I not cool enough for them? And finally, I have come to the conclusion that honestly it doesn't matter to me. Facing Foreclosure, Good or Bad?One of the states that is facing the most high rates on foreclosure is Colorado where unluckily I live, for better and worse, Colorado real estate steals the spot for being with the most foreclosures. The RealtyTrac, INC report shows that since April, 3706 homes in Colorado were in state of foreclosure. That translates to a ratio of one of every 4954 households in foreclosures. The national average is one of every 1,268 households. From 2005 to 2006 almost doubled the amount of foreclosures, just in 1 year. This information was collected from Arapahoe County from Public Trustee. In (7 comments)

Wood-Destroying Insects - 10:40 AM
Wood-Destroying Insects termites or other wood destroying organisms infest thousands of homes. Mortgage lenders in New Jersey require the home purchaser to have the home inspected by a reputable exterminating company, to determine if there is any damage caused or infestation by termites or other wood destroying insects. Usually, the Buyer will pay for this inspection. The contract for sale will state that the report will be furnished to the Seller a specified number of days (usually ten days) prior to settlement. If infestation is found, the seller, at the Sellers expenses, shall have the infestation treated and have repaired or replaced any (0 comments)
