Internet Recruiting - 03:23 PM
It has been said that internet marketing and blogging is a pull strategy instead of a push strategy and that consumers are drawn to a person by what they read and learn about the person. If that is the case then could it be said that recruiting could work in a similar fashion? I mean, if a person is drawn to company by what they read or hear then isn't that a pull strategy? Another Snow Day - 04:13 PM
Today was another snow in western Washington and third one in a week's time. I am actually at my girlfriends house answering emails, working on some webpages and you guessed it, blogging. Though I love snow days it has made the schedule a little tough since it has been kind of wild since Thanksgiving.

Recently a long simmering, local political pot finally boiled over when the Tennessee Supreme Court ruled that Tennessee counties with a charter form of government could indeed legally vote to limit the number of terms an office holder could serve.
In 1994 Knox County voters voted overwhelmingly to limit the number of terms an office holder could serve to not more than 2. The next year the Tennessee Attorney General issued an opinion that vote was invalid. No one bothered to challenge it because, after all, it was the state attorney general and surely his opinion was a good one.

Windows Mobile Devices - Review - Part 1 - 11:08 AM
I've been occupied the past few days with a new toy -- a wireless PDA (Pocket PC) phone running Windows Mobile 5.0 and unlimited broadband. I was "forced" to acquire it as a replacement for a phone that I passed on to another member of the family whose phone was no longer working. I had been putting off making the step into the the Windows Mobile domain (I am a Palm PDA user), but being the techie that I am, I wanted to at least put the device and Windows Mobile through it's paces and better understand it's pros and cons. Most of us are aware that "green" building is going mainstream. Most of us realize that it behooves us to mention features like passive solar heating, active solar systems, themal windows insulation upgrades or energy rated appliances and systems in our listing and advertising materials. Unfortunately many people still belive that sustainable building means huge expense.
Recently my QB was helping his neice find a home. She was a typical first time homebuyer with a restricted budget. Fortunately, her expectations were more reasonable than most. As has been seen throughout the playoffs this year the home team has won the majority of the matchups with the exception of San Diego and Baltimore. The Bears will have to rely on their defense and luckily for them they do have a great one. The Bears defense can be beat with the deep ball which is what happened last year against the Panthers. I learned my lesson this week never bet against Tom Brady and the Patriots!!!!!!!!!!! Like most of you the matchup between the chargers and patriots favored the chargers on paper. But on game day it was a completley different story the chargers couldnt execute in the fourth quarter and made some mind boggling mental errors. The Patriots demonstrated why they are three time champs. Sorry bolts "maybe" next year ha ha........

Here is what is happening in the central Florida area:
The areas congressional delegation is pledging to pay for more police, jump start the commuter light rail program, and find $337 million for a new veterans hospital.
With the Democrats in control of Congress, these projects might not ever come to pass. Even though the the reigning powers that be in central Florida are Republicans, they have less power than they used to in Congress.....they are still hopeful that some of these projects wil get the funding they deserve.

Rachel Carson, this pioneer activist stirred up controversy with her book "Silent Spring" She wrote the book in her house in the Quaint Acres Neighborhood of Silver Spring, Md. This fairly modest rambler with english basement was built in 1957 and sits on a heavily wood lot of a little over an acre. A Conservation park in Brookville and an elementary school in Gaithersburg are named after Carson. I am amazed at several businesses that have survived and thrived the rise, the decline, the fall and the current surge in popularity of "Silver Sprung", Md. As a native of Silver Spring, I have lived, gone to school, played and worked here all my life. I've seen the good the bad and the ugly times in Silver Spring.

Recruiting - 06:43 AM
This past Monday (Martin Luther KingDay) I was dropping off a purchase contract to a Brokerage in my area. The Broker of this agency has been trying to recruit me and now the top agent who I brought the contract to is following up for him. She told me how much more I would have made on this sale if only I would come to them. While she was talking to me another Brokerage called on my cell and was trying to recruit me!
