Nashville Hits Record Year in Home Sales--More Homes Sold in 2006 Than any Other Year in History - 09:00 PM
The Greater Nashville Association of REALTORS reports, 40,056 homes were closed in 2006, representing a 3 percent increase from the 38,874 closings reported for 2005.
"There were 3,109 closings during the month of December.  This is a 7.5 percent decrease from the 3,362 closings reported for the same period in 2005, but it is the second highest number of homes ever sold in the month of December.
Fourth quarter closings are 9,307 for Greater Nashville.  That total is down 2.6 percent from the 9,563 closings during the fourth quarter of 2005, but still the second-best fourth quarter on record.

Dog Idea - 09:57 PM
I thought I would throw this idea out for investors and dog-friendly people.  We live in Washington, DC on Capitol Hill.  We are cat people (5 great rescues), but EVERYONE on the Hill has dogs.  As my husband and I renovate homes, I try to fit in a doggie shower downstairs in a half bath.  It is just a shower with a larger drain, higher basin, and hand held shower head, but people love, love, love the idea and love talking about it, which gets attention for my properties!

I know a lot of people don't like this (the one's with bad credit) and I agree that it is not fair for those otherwise credit upstanding citizens who, due to no fault of their own, had a divorce or family medical situation that ruined their credit. Nevertheless, the truth is, from an actuarial standpoint, people with excellent to good credit can get huge discounts on home, auto and excess liaiblity insurance becuase they are statisically much less likely to have a claim (and that's what insurance companies are ultimately concerned about - not your driving record, etc)
