You Have to S.C.O.R.E. More to Win More - 10:53 AM
You Have to S.C.O.R.E. More to Win More Winning is more than goal setting, positive thinking or meditating daily on having a more positive experience in your business. If that is your strategy you may become the best goal setter, most positive, poor loan originator. To win consistently in your business you have to score more than your competition. Scoring isn’t just about putting points on the scoreboard or loans in your pipeline, it begins with your frame of mind, you have to hate losing. Winning is what we strive for in sales, and often in life. If there was no prize

I Guess There is Alot to do in Des Moines and central Iowa! - 11:20 PM
I spent 3 1/2 hours freezing today. The weird part was, it was GREAT! My wife and I joined some good friends from our church and some of our wednesday night class kids and went snow tubing at Sleepy Hollow. For those not familiar with Sleepy Hollow, it's a year round fun park. It's winter, so there was snow tubing, snowboarding (yes in Iowa!), skiing, and oddly enough KGGO (local radio station) had people there mini-golfing (putt-putt), in 23 degree temperature. In the summer it has batting cages, the golf, and around halloween, the haunted hayrack ride and I believe, haunted

Real Estate is going to the dogs in Lawrence, KS - 11:53 AM
Last year we had the opportunity to baby sit... or should I say doggie sit our neighbor's lhasa apso, named Enzo, while our neighbor was out of town. My husband suggested to me that I was going to meet quite a few people walking such a spunky dog... Not only was my husband right (how often can a woman say that!) but the first day I met a man who was moving to Australia and needed to sell his house ASAP... But the story doesn't end there... his house was perfect for one of my buyers who ended up buying it

THE SECRET TO BEING "LUCKY" - 09:47 PM
Why do some people seem to have all the luck? They're always in the right place at the right time. Their businesses prosper. They get one fantastic promotion after another. In short: they enjoy phenomenal success. What explains it? Are they doing something special, or is good fortune selecting them by chance? For a moment, let's put aside winning the lottery-which seems to be a random type of luck-and instead focus on those who consistently achieve extraordinary results in their lives. Often, we attribute their accomplishments to random luck. However, after studying the lives of these people, I've discovered that there's

CALL "TIME OUT" - 09:48 PM
In a basketball game, when things are going poorly and the coach doesn't like the way his team is performing, he instructs his players to call a "time out." At this point, the game is stopped for a few minutes while the coach huddles with the team to discuss adjustments needed to get the players back on-track and performing more effectively. Of course, during the "time out," the coach also points out what the players are doing right - which helps to reinforce their positive behavior. Here's the question: How often in your life do you call a "time out" to

How to Calculate Your Mortgage Payments - 09:52 PM
Calculating your mortgage payment involves some relatively tricky math to end up with some relatively neat equations. From basic principles you need to targe a stream of monthly payments that when present valued will equal the mortgage principle amount taken out today. If you are planning on setting up a spreadsheet to calculate mortgage payments see our 'mortgage amortization schedule' which will show you more spreadsheet calculations you can use. The following is a step by step guide that will show you how mortgage lending companies calculate your mortgage payment. First, we need some definitions:PF = payment frequency, the number of payments

California Proposition 60 - Transfer of Property Tax Base - People 55 yrs of age or older - 01:40 PM
Have you been thinking that this may be the perfect time to sell your current home that you've owned for years and "buy down" in price? Your "kids" may be grown and out of the house and you would like a smaller home with less maintenance or, perhaps, you would love to put some of that equity that you've built up to work in other ways? However, you can't bear the thought of paying higher property taxes for the replacement property based on today's market prices. Did you know that certain people can "buy down" while retaining their Prop 13

What's the highest commission you have seen? - 03:21 PM
With the slow down in the Phoenix and surrounding areas market we have been seeing some interesting commission offerings. For example one new builder locally was offering sixteen percent on a spec home. Others are averaging anywhere from three percent to eight percent. I was just curiou what the highest you may have seen in your area is and what your opinion is of the average. Thanks in advance and I see a sale in your future and you should too.
