Real estate agents and as a matter of fact, all professions should have an elevator speech prepared and perfected, memorized and constantly being improved upon. It is an ongoing process. 
Here in the Colorado Springs real estate market, we see a lot of excess inventory in the new build market. Even in the best of times, there are many builders and models to choose from and you can go ground up or take a convenient spec if new is your thing...HOWEVER:
I was speaking with a REALTOR® friend the other day and she mentioned that the average DOM had risen substantially in her county-- as it has in most counties. With fewer buyers out there ready and able to transact and with sellers not yet reacting quickly enough to the new pricing realities of a "buyer's market" homes are languishing. Properties that would have attracted multiple offers at or above listing price within a week only 18 months ago are now, slowly and quietly, starting to show off those "Price Reduced" sign riders. Yes, you read the title right. I just saw this story and I thought it was very unusual and unique. This couple in Pittsburgh have been trying to sell their home for a year, and the market is not that great in that area, so they had to come up with something that no one else was offering...
Hi Active Rain community. I've decided to start blogging here after following my friend and colleague, Sara Bonert.
Yesterday, a pretty significant player in the real estate industry showed up at ActiveRain with a bang and hit the floor running with three posts. Spencer Rascoff, the CFO and Vice President of Marketing for Zillow.com joined our illustrious ranks. We believe that Spencer has a unique perspective on the real estate market based on his duties at Zillow. It looks like the Arms Race is on between him and Sara Bonert to see who will be the most visible Zillow voice. 
Buyers want more than LOWER PRICE: Buyers are looking more for quality than quantity to get the best deal in buying a home. Sometimes, if they have lower price it may mean poorer services. We as Realtors have to seek out the client's need, so that they can reach their goals. The Positive Attitude for the Weary Soul group (PAWS) was founded for the sole purpose of creating a positive atmosphere in a group so we all have a place to retreat to when the soul gets weary. Daytona Beach and it's surrounding areas there is a lot of legends, folklore and history. While we are known for our World's Most Famous Beach, we also have lots and lots of history. 
I've recently attended the Internet lead generation seminar taught by Jack Miller. As I mentioned earlier I was a bit reluctant to attend fearing that it was a very basic course and would not have much useful information for me. I'm happy to report that the course was well worth my time.

As the Fed prepares for yet another rate drop on short term rates on Halloween, will this drop spook or please the general public. A quarter percent rate drop is viewed as more symbolic and is being sold to the average consumer as "look what your government is doing to save the economy".

I must admit that I love halloween, always have. As a child how could you not love a night that allows you to run wild in the neighborhood while collecting gobs of candy. It seems that most recent Colorado Halloween have come on cold and snowy nights but this year promises to be different with a cold of only 40 degrees.
