Activerain Fad OR Activerain Pioneers? - 12:05 PM
I have made Internet marketing a huge part of my day.  More now than ever...because I am getting prepared.  See for some the web may come easy and you have no problem keeping up on things but for me sometimes I really struggle.
Struggle with my mindset, habits and most of all lack of looking at the future..it's the present so many of us focus on.  I am one of those people.

The Internet is an amazing thing.  It's communication, it's efficient and allows us to do more every single day.
I now order take out on line, bank on-line and … (56 comments)

Washington Realtors Q & A - 06:10 PM

Do you read the Washington Realtors Legal Q & A Section that comes in their newsletter every week?  I try to, and this week's questions is any excellent reason why.  I had no idea that the buyer cannot change lenders without the seller's approval after the time required for making original loan application.  If you go to the link you can join.

By Far, Today is the VERY BEST DAY of the Year To Sell Real Estate! - 12:36 PM
Bold statement, let me back it up short and sweet.
December 1st - write your offer to the banks (REO foreclosures & Short Sales) that your offer is contingent on closing on or before 12/31/07.
This is the banks last chance to get excess inventory of the books...
So quit blogging and get out and sell some real estate - my buyers are meeting me in an hour, gotta go!
Until Next Time, Have a Blessed Day,John Occhi, Hemet CA REALTOR®Mission Grove Realty

High Plains Village Condo Owners- Take Note - 01:33 PM
When I bought my house in High Plains Village, I was trying to get my arms around the whole Environmental Center thing. After all, I never walked the trails, saw the lakes or took a bird watching tour with the HPEC staff. So, from my standpoint, the value of the HPEC meant nothing to me. In fact, I may have even questioned the .02% fee that is mandatory to live in High Plains Village and chalked it up to another way for someone to collect money from me. The sad truth is that I was not overly concerned about the fee … (0 comments)

Have I Been Hijacked? - 06:47 AM
After five years of being with RE/MAX and having my website show up under "Chris Tesch, RE/MAX Bryan College Station" it seems to have reverted to the old information that I originally had it under.  Yesterday in doing my searches to ensure that my website came up in it's fairly consistant places under certain keywords I found it was in the places I expected it, but the title came up as "Chris Tesch, Century 21 Beal, Inc."
Unfortunately I am days away from doing a presentation in front of a local group about my business and why it pays to use … (23 comments)

Client Gift Ideas - 08:11 PM
One of my favorite gifts for clients is one of many items from Southern Living.  Southern Living is having their winter sale currently with prices up to 80% off regular retail.  Regular prices tend to be a bit steep, but this is a great sale.  You must purchase at least $29.95 in regular priced items to qualify for the winter sale, but will find huge bargains like this pitcher, regular $39.95 and on sale for $6.95.  I stock up with this kind of sale and have lots of items on hand for closings and client appreciation gifts!

Florida's property tax back in chaos - 10:43 AM
It is hard to believe after a promise from the Governor; a regular session of the legislature and TWO special sessions (as a cost to the Florida tax payer of $40,000 a day), but the property tax issue simply will not go away.
The legislature finally agreed to put something incredibly weak on the ballot for January 29 which, if passed by the voters, will give the average Floridian a saving of $240.
Since then we have the Speaker of the House (who voted for it) urging Citizens not to approve that, but to put pressure on to get something else.
And now a … (12 comments)

Just seen Glenn Beck - 10:29 PM

It's almost 11.30pm here in Orlando and I have just returned from having seen the first night of the Glenn Beck Christmas Tour. In fact, I was the Orlando sponsor of the event and I even had the opportunity to meet Glenn and to shake his hand - truly a great American.
For your convenience, I have posted the rest of the tour dates and if one is coming near you then I urge you to get tickets. It was an amazing night filled with laughter but also filled with emotion as Glenn took us on a journey through his family - … (10 comments)

Hurricane season is over - storms were named incorrectly - 10:57 PM
Now this seems innocent enough on face value right? A few of the seasons storms getting names when they really didn't actually deserve names? What could be wrong with that?
Well simplistically, this is going to hit you in the pocket while at the same time making the forecasters not look quite as stupid as they actually are.
You see for two years now we've been promised more active seasons with more bad storms and they simply haven't materialised.
This year we were having storms get names even though they were referring to them as "sub-tropical" - I don't remember that happening before either.

What can we learn from Lincoln? - 11:32 PM
The following is from the Florida Association of Realtors. It suggests a number of ways that realtors can learn from perhaps the greatest president of all - Abraham Lincoln. Historian Doris Kearns Goodwin is regarded as the foremost historian on the Presidency. She was speaking at 2007 Realtors® Conference & Expo in Las Vegas and these are the comparrisons she made.
· Set aside your ego. Lincoln was animated by the desire to make the world a better place because of his role in it, something he achieved to an uncommon degree. Yet, his remarkable leadership rests on only a few very simple … (6 comments)

This week's Home Team Radio Show - 11:51 PM

This week on The Home Team Radio Show we will once again be revisiting property tax. With House Speaker Marco Rubio now actively campaigning for something other than the amendment he voted for AND a commission which meets every 20 years suggesting yet somethig else, this issue has never looked more complicated.
We will be visiting insurance and learning nhow rates will be going up yet again - and a quiet hurricane season is partly to blame!
As if all of that wasn't enough, we have stories on Americans still feeling buying a home is a great financial decision; an influx of foreign … (8 comments)

Facebook: Business Pages - 09:19 AM
You probably have already joined Facebook, and created a profile there.  Did you know you can also create a (FREE) Facebook Page for your business?
Go to http://www.facebook.com/business/ -- Click on Facebook Pages
Click Create a Facebook Page
Start creating the Page.  Here's a little curiosity.  The logical category for an agent or broker would be "Local Business" ->"Real Estate", right?
But if you enter your page in the Real Estate category, the detailed information page will not give you a box for "General Information".  Huh?  Only "Public Transit".  While I love the environmentally conscious idea of throngs of people visiting my office via the light rail, … (212 comments)

November News Recap for Marco Island Homeowners - 08:48 AM
Marco Island is a great place to call home!  Many only call Marco Island home for part of the year, so to catch those up that are not in the area, here is a brief recap of what is happening on Marco Island.
Marco Island is a boating community with many Marco Island homes and condos set on canals. Between 1964 - 1965 the Deltona Corporation started building seawalls to create Marco Island Waterways. In building all of those canals, there was need to have bridges built to help people navigate the roadways.
