CAST ALL YOUR CARES - 05:05 PM
 TROUBLING TIMES
AS our phones quiet, and the holiday season accelerates, it's easy to get discouraged and concerned about holiday spending and thin wallets.
I received encouragement from a letter I received this week from World Challenge, Inc, David Wilkerson's ministry.  I'm sure many of you also subscribe to this wise man's letters.
In this issue he discussed the housing crisis he had been warning about for two years, but had a clear word of encouragement for us:
"In spite of all the frightening news, God still has everything under control."
"This is the Word we believers must stand upon as the storm rages around … (6 comments)

An Environmentally Friendly Holiday Season - 04:52 AM

A variety of ways to help protect the environment have sprung up for this holiday season.  Studies now show that 54% of holiday shoppers will choose to be eco-friendly if given a chance.  So a few ideas.
Christmas tree lights that are solar powered.  These lights are available at Home Depot and probably elsewhere and come with a small solar panel.  These lights will stay lit until midnight.Using organic beeswax candles in a menorahUsing eco friendly and reusable bags to wrap gifts, these bags can then be used at the supermarket instead of the plastic or paper bags. All of the lights on … (5 comments)

It took over 5 years and over a thousand hours on the phone... - 01:34 AM
to finally intercept all the forms and checklists required by over 40 lending institutions nationwide in order to consider our clients for a Short Sale.  It took over 2,000 hours on the phone with customer service and loss mitigation representatives during a course of almost 6 years to create a directory of lender personnel and loss mitigation reps that could help get our Short Sale transactions closed.  It took well over a few hundred transactions to see a pattern and to finally determine what lenders really expect to net in Short Sale transactions based on whether or not you're shorting a FHA, VA, or Conventional … (1 comments)

stack overflow error line 460 - 01:54 PM
How many of you are getting this message ?
Stack overflow at  line: 460 ?
I have been getting it for several days. Ann Cummings commented on my blog that she got it when she added the blogbar that Brad Andersohn recommended.
When I commented back that I was getting it BEFORE I added the widget, others chimmed in and said they were getting it too.
It appears to me it was happening before this widget was added suggested by Brad.
I've been Googling it and it is way over my head to fix it.
Since so many of us are getting it here, could it … (71 comments)

How passive real estate investors leave money on the table - 09:37 PM
In A Brief History of Time, Stephen Hawking refers to a publisher’s rule of thumb that states that every formula that a writer includes in a publications will cut his readership in half. Well real estate investing is based on relatively simple principles - especially next to the stuff that Hawking researches- but there are some RE investing concepts that can be communicated a bit more effectively aided by a few equations and numerical examples. So bear with me - with this post I'm going to crawl through some numbers and risk turning off a few readers...
I mentioned in a recent … (3 comments)

Omaha Real Estate     Contributed by David Matney with Alliance Real Estate
If you could only subscribe to only one blog on activerain who would you subscribe to and why did you pick that person?  Everyone has a favorite or maybe you might have different favorites for different reasons.  I had the opportunity to meet another activerainer at a local training function and we started talking about blogging and activerain.  I have my favorites, but it would be interesting to know who other people like because I have to be missing somebody else.  It may be a very had to decide.
Thanks,

Their 5th Annual Pink Ribbons For Life Event

He had no idea that over 50% of us had pinked our photos and put pink ribbons on them. He had no clue he was asking the perfect person to post about a fund raising event to help raise money … (0 comments)

Bernard Discusses Third Party Aggregators At NAR - 03:39 PM
Jeff Bernard-third party aggregators and MLS Systems
Hi, I am Jeff Bernard. I am with RE/MAX Alliance center, Denver, Colorado enjoying the NAR convention. I like to talk for a movement about one of the seminars that I attend, one of the many very good seminars that I have enjoyed here. It’s primarily about third party real estate listing web aggregation and let me be most specific. If you go sites like a postlets.com for example, you can aggregate your listening and that listening can go into several different providers on the internet that provide information about your listening in various … (0 comments)

Stazzel.com - The Ultimate CRM For Realtors - 03:42 PM

Zagros Bigvand-stazzel.com-The Ultimate CRM
I am Zagros Bigvand with stazzel.com. Stazzel.com is a contact manger, basically like a CRM 2.0. We are a different type of CRM in that, we actually are a hierarchy based customers relationaship manager.
What we do is we contract all your referrals. Like Arnold Kings he is the real estate agent. Arnold referred first to you and you are the loan officer, say in is this scenario Prince support Kelvin, where Kelvin does not have a real estate agent. So, you don’t have any way right now visually tracking this. What we do is we … (7 comments)

maine real estate and interest rates - 01:24 PM
As we all heard on the news this past week the interest rates might fall this week. This will be great for homebuyers. Between the interest rates falling and the season in real estate being great for buyers, now is the time to come to Maine and do that purchase. And don't forget when you come or send someone this way for me to help you can enjoy checking out our local ski areas.
Shawnee Peak in Bridgton, Maine opened this weekend in full swing and with the recent snows they are boasting a great time to be had on the … (2 comments)

Sunday's Comics - 09:46 AM
Yes, I know that this is a lame excuse for a post, but love the comics and I find that too many people don't read them regularly.  Dang, that's what I should have put in my Meme post.

Disclaimer:  All have been copied from the internet.  I have no artistic talent whatsoever and couldn't even come close to producing something of this ilk.

Keywords & Search Engine Spiders - 11:10 AM
We're all concerned about where our posts will show up and I've been researching many aspects of better rankings, etc.  One of the items I came across has to do with keywords.  Unfortunately, when I just went to look for the article I did not bookmark it - go figure!
Anyway, it appears that certain Search Engine Spiders, and I know that this may sound ridiculous, but they look for the words/phrases that you utilize for your keywords/tags to be in alphabetical order.  There are only a couple that look for this, but I think that it would be advantageous, therefore, … (26 comments)

Five Reasons TO BUY NOW!!! - 01:54 PM
FIVE REASONS Why Should You Buy A Home For Investment Right Now. . Buying a home can mean building significant  equity value through the years. Yes, it's been a rough 2007 for most of us. . but the " Law Of Gravity" for Real Estate has always   been upwards.
You should think carefully about how much you can afford to spend and consider that guidelines from banks are now very tight. .and consider that today, INTEREST RATES are at it's LOWEST since 2004!
Working with your lender is a good way to determine how much house you can afford to buy to keep … (2 comments)

Wow! That was really awful! Our Christmas parade experience last night - 11:23 PM

My family and I live in Pflugerville, which is a town of about 40,000 people located adjacent to Austin on the north side of town.  Most would call it a suburb, although many recent developments (such as the addition of two major toll roads) promise to bring our town a bit more of its own identity.
The "downtown" Pflugerville area is quaint and small, with a fire station, a couple of cute stores, antiques, a coffee shop, a European-themed restaurant (?), church, city hall, a BBQ place, Mexican restaurant, post office, and the the Prague market, which sells a wide array … (49 comments)

Snow - 07:54 PM
Tuolumne County received several inches of snow over the weekend.  The was snow in Mi Wuk Village as I drove thru it today.  I continued up the hill and people were pulled over at "Little Sweden" and were sleding.  I went all the way up to Cold Springs and even more snow.  The snow in Mi Wuk Village will be gone in a few days if it warms up.  The snow in Cold Springs could be here for awhile.  Hopefully this snow will help in Dodge Ridge opening soon!
