Over the past 24 hours, I've been a part of a rather interesting email thread between about a dozen bloggers started by Greg Swann over at the BloodHoundBlog.  It started because content from some blog RSS feeds were being republished on the InmanWiki. 
Many sites out there that aggregate and republish content from blog RSS feeds in one form or another, the InmanWiki was just one example (technorati, bloglines, squidoo, etc).  Sometimes this resyndication cab viewed as a very valuable source of exposure, other times they can be seen as stealing content.  This creates a huge grey area around the rules of content syndication.  The arguement could even … (15 comments)

Where do you Get Your Images?
A photo posted on your blog can make a huge difference.  It conveys the idea of your post and really catches the eye of the reader.
I've been using clip are for many of my posts.  I copy the clip art and past it into "Paint."  Then save it as a JPG file.  I then upload that file into ActiveRain.
This is definitely not the best way to get images for your blog.  But it is one.

ActiveRain is a wonderful place to accomplish two things.
The first and most obvious today is that ActiveRain is the premiere place online where you can connect with other real estate professionals from around the country.
The second is to connect with consumers. This has always been a part of ActiveRain, but until recently there hasn’t been a push toward it.
With all the posting going on a lot of members are writing and asking me what is expected of their blog posts.

I was talking to Jim Cronin from The Real Estate Tomato ealier today and he mentioned that there are three things that increasingly are defining consumers on the Internet. 
They want access to as much information as possible.They want to maintain their privacy and anonymity. They don't want to make a committment until they are ready.

MORTGAGE RATES TAKE ANOTHER DIPby John Occhi, Hemet CA REALTOR®Real Estate, Hemet CAFreddie Mac reported that mortgage rates dropped again this week after another decline in housing starts.  According to a statement issued by Frank Nothaft, Freddie Mac vice president and chief economist, January "showed the weakest reading since August 1997, due to the abundance of homes already on the market to purchase,"

Georgetown Sees "Good" Growth Coming - 09:07 AM
Georgetown is growing by leaps and bounds.  In an attempt to guide that growth for the good of the city, the city has put certain parameters in place.  And now we're seeing the results of that effort. 
A new subdivision is coming to town - Water Oak at San Gabriel, a conservation subdivision.  Out of 1900 acres (4000 homes, 100 acres commercial/retail, 1500 multi-family homes), 650 acres are being reserved for conservation.

The Austin Circle of Theaters, a nonprofit performing arts service organization, has launched Now Playing Austin, Austin's Ultimate Guide to Arts and Culture, a website that offers not only who's performing what where and when, but also information on classes, workshops, jobs, auditions, organizations, venues, public art, exhibits, individual artists, and more (even sports), all in one convenient place.  If art is your thing, this is clearly the place to be!

When I was growing up in Detroit, I remember checking in on two elderly women that lived in my neighborhood.  Both were fragile in health and maintained that they wanted to live in their homes and not be a burden on their families.  (While I didn't know this at the time, both were very lonely too.)

Embedding videos into a WordPress blogging platform - 06:33 PM
If you have a WordPress blogging platform and share my recent frustrations at trying to embed a YouTube video, there is a very quick and simple solution I found at Jack Humphrey.com
The problem occurs because WordPress, like several blogging platforms, uses a WYSIWYG (whizzygig) or "What You See Is What You Get" editor for writing posts.
Apparently the WordPress version of WYSIWYG doesn't like to embed things very well because all my attempts were coming out blank or scrambled.
