Things to consider before making an offer on a home - 11:47 AM

Expensive lessons learned as a non-represented buyer! - 02:08 PM
My first homebuying experience set me up to be a SUPER- Agent for my clients! Everything that could possibly go wrong-DID GO WRONG! I was fortunate that the sellers were so patient as our initial offer was accepted on May 7 and we did not close until Mid-August!
Lesson 1-Always have representaion to insure all of your bases are covered.
We were buying a FSBO-way under market, because it was a gut rehab, so we felt we could save more by not utilizing the services of an agent. I had been out of the RE industry for a few years and had never … (1 comments)

In this era of consolidation in the Real Estate Industry, there is an alarming trend that seems to be billed as being better for the consumer.  That is the proliferation of "One Stop Shopping", or the bundling of several services under one roof or organization.  In Southern New Jersey, where I do business, this practice has gone from nearly unheard of 5 years ago to approximately half of the market today.
Essentially, a real estate company forms an affiliation with or develops a wholly owned title company and possibly a lender as well. The premise is that if the parent company … (1 comments)
