The Land Lord - 02:55 PM
A friend of mine just sent this video. It about a "landlord" trying to collect rent from her tenant. The tenant is played by Will Ferrell with a brief appearance by Adam McKay.  Here is the link for the video: http://sjl.funnyordie.com/v1/view_video.php?viewkey=3efbc24c7d2583be6925  Be forewarned the site is named funny or die after all.  This is a PG 13 video due to some language. -Charles … (0 comments)

A hidden gem - High Country Estates - 07:15 PM
There are so many choices for housing in Las Vegas today. Builders are still churning out new communities with the latest in amenities.  A lot of times, home buyers will overlook smaller neighborhoods like High Country Estates. This small community is located off of Jones Boulevard in Las Vegas. It is a small, quiet neighborhood of fair sized homes.  The community has been well maintained and many homes have had some upgrades done by their prior owners. Homes feature large size lots and private backyards.
Sales activity in the community is fairly active. There are usually a few homes available for … (1 comments)

Adding Google Search To Your Active Rain Blog - 02:19 AM
Oh. My. Goodness.  Why didn't I think of this sooner?  Do you know you can add a Google Search to your Active Rain Blog?  Here's what mine looks like
Here's how:

2.  In the "Blog Description" box, add this code -- either before or after any text, or other "widget" code you have, depending on your design preference:

What a Weekend! - 03:16 PM
A year ago, in a moment of insanity, I volunteered to be the Show Secretary of the 2007 Heart of Texas Morgan Horse Club (HOTMHC) Open Fun Show.  And this past weekend, Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28, was the weekend.  (Did I think it would never come?  Was I mad?  What WAS I thinking? Well, actually, what I was thinking was that I don't show, and if I volunteered for the position, then someone who DOES show would have the chance to do so, because it's a position that does not allow the person handling it to show - … (0 comments)

Tiptoe Through .... with Caleb - 03:28 PM
Caleb's getting plenty of fresh air and sunshine during his visit to Baltimore.  Not to worry – I'm making sure he has a good sunscreen on since he didn't bring any other clothes. We don't get many perfect spring days in Baltimore, but the other day was sunny, breezy, and in the low 70's. Just right for another jaunt with my visitor. We took advantage of the great weather to visit Sherwood Gardens where the azaleas and tulips were glorious!

The gardens were begun in 1927 by John Sherwood, a local petroleum pioneer and conservationist. What started as a hobby … (10 comments)

Faster than the speed of light! - 05:12 PM
OK I'm back. My last post was a little intense so I thought I best lighten up a little today. So here goes. OH, it's not about TLW but I really wanted to use that picture.  After 13 years in business and hundreds of successful closings I had a first last week. A four day closing! Yep, that's right, my Sellers and I negotiated a deal on Monday and closed it Friday afternoon. Not only that but it was a 100% financing deal on a $230,000 property and a mail away to the Seller!
Is that fast or what? The contract was … (37 comments)

Public Perception - 07:01 AM
Ladies and gentlemen of the public lend me your ears.
In spite of what your perception of what a real estat agent may be, please do not judge us by the actions of a few.
We come from many walks of life.  Some of us have a past that is golden and some of us do not.  Many are women and some are men.  Some of us have families to support and others of us do not.  Several of us have jobs during the day other than real estate and others of us do it full-time.
I write this article because of a recent … (6 comments)

Denver Real Estate & Relocation - 11:01 PM
Relocation to a new area is both exciting and frightening at the same time. Homeowners have so many details to work through on both sides of the move. Many times people plan out their move, without consulting others. They think it through and figure that is the way to do it. Whether their plan is right or wrong depends on many factors. Usually it is best to talk the plan out with professionals who deal with relocation situations on a daily basis.
That is where Realtors come in. Not only do we work with tranferees frequently, but we hear about their problems … (6 comments)

Eastwood Hills Division 1 - 06:38 PM
Eastwood Hills Division 1 boarders 67th and 50th PL NE in the South end of Marysville. In Mickie's early years in real estate she was the site agent on this neighborhood and sold most of the homes here. I can remember doing walk through on many of the homes but for the life of me I can't remember the layouts, those were the days long before digital cameras. Eastwood Hills Division 1 is a great starter neighborhood comprised of split levels, ramblers and two story homes.

The Devil In The Mirror - 05:33 AM
It is time for an intervention. The public does not think much of real estate folks. As a collective group, we talk loudly against that belief. Sadly, all we seem to do is talk.
The bottom line is that for the most part, the public is right. As a profession, we are overwhelmed with incompetence, stupidity, complacency, lazyness and ineptitude.  At least when considered in general terms.
I have met agents that are great, but I have met far more that make me cringe at the idea that they are in the same business as I am.
Instead of constantly TALKING about how this … (14 comments)
