You Want Inspiration, Look No Further Than Your Local Homeowner! - 09:33 AM
If it wasn't for a lack of REM sleep and an inspired addiction to this very forum, I might never have had the opportunity to jot down all the thoughts going on in my head I wanted to share.  Over a month ago I sat in this very chair, staring at this very screen, and I started to write about one of the more inspiring individuals I've ever met in my life.  Then, it happened, computer freeze and POOF....it was gone.  I hadn't the heart to pour out my heart about that guy again til now.

Each Day I Walk Among Heros!! - 05:03 PM
Today, I took my grandson to one of the Sun City community pools. While watching him, I thought of the many who never had kids and grandkids. They were the ones we honor  today.
So, where are the heros you ask? I live and work with many of Tom Brokaw's "Greatest Generation" It is easy to remember Memorial Day, and Veteran's Day too, when you see these heros daily.

I spent some time at Fort Snelling National Cemetery today. I don't know if any of my friends are buried there, although many family members are eligible but have bought plots elsewhere. Fort Snelling's cemetery is small than some of the national cemeteries, but impressive nonetheless. Walking among the stones, watching the visitors, talking with some, and generally reflecting was a good way to remember those who have served. My thanks go to the many who have selflessly given of their time so that I, and others less appreciative than I, can live in one of the greatest countries on earth. … (1 comments)

Memorial Day 2007 - Thanks. - 02:43 PM


Over 20 years ago my first home was located on a dead end street in upstate New York. The street was incredibly quiet all the time - until Memorial Day rolled around each spring. On that day it was jammed with slow moving vehicles making their way into the gated cemetery at its terminus. The cars, trucks, and vans would each move respectfully into the narrow opening, then the caravan would spread out as appreciative loved ones would find their way to specific gravesites, many for their only visit of the year.

I see lots of folks here at AR are using Real Estate Shows, which has a better price structure but the tours at Distinctive Home Tours are really pretty awesome as they are full screen tours with music and all the other things available elsewhere. It seems like this is what you are going to want for your high priced listings.

I stopped by the 800 Flag Memorial Day display in Eagle this morning, drawn by the sight of so many flags.  If you can, you should stop by and give some thought to what today is all about.  The display will be up until next Saturday, June 2.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Memorial Day.  I spent the weekend with my oldest son, Ryan, who is a member of the 82nd Airborne, 2 Brigate 325th (white falcons).  Ryan will be deploying in the next week or so to join his unit who are already in place in Iraq.  While we were just spending time together I realized that life really is too short.  What would I do if I knew my life would change completely tomorrow?  Really, nothing other than being with your family and friends matters.  My son will be in Iraq until March 2008.  And, … (0 comments)
