Downtown Denver - 01:33 PM
Downtown Denver, revitalized during the 1970s, has continued to keep pace with Denver's growth and is a vital center for living, working, entertainment and dining. In fact Denver is second only to San Francisco in restaurants per capita, and has more microbreweries per capita than any city in the country. Denver is ringed with world-class shopping areas, including a thriving downtown shopping venue, the 16th Street Mall.  Denver's downtown is the 10th largest in the U.S.

Gardening in Denver - 04:36 PM
I don't know about where you live, but here in Denver we're searching for warmer weather! The spring has been by turns cloudy, cold and windy, or warm and wonderful.  I can't get my morning glories to do much more than just endure, growth is out of the question.  And all the rest of the container plants on my 26 foot long balcony are longing for a little heat to start summer growth.
But when I look at the average for June 1st over the last several years, it's only 74, which isn't all that warm.  So my impatience will be rewarded, but … (6 comments)

Console Gaming Gone Wild - 08:24 PM
My big way to blow of steam is gaming. While I could hit a little white ball into a hole, I would rather spend some time gaming. But here is a product that proves a couple of things. First, some people are taking their gaming WAY too seriously. Second, some people will buy anything. Can you imagine a scenario where your emotionally invested enough in your console gaming to heave your games remote at your expensive LCD or Plasma TV? Me neither.Act quick folks, this just might be THE next hot closing gift for clients.Find it here:http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2007/05/wii_safety_shie.html … (1 comments)

The Xeriscaping Dilemma - 09:41 AM
I was reminded yesterday when I received a notice from my home owners association that I am in default of completing my landscaping on my new home within the required time period.  I must admit that I have been ignoring this project.  I have enjoyed decorating my new home, matching the colors, choosing the fabrics and all the fun "design stuff".  The yard however is another matter.  I have never been one to care too much about which bush to put where on what time of the year is best to plant or prune.  My biggest dilemma though has to do … (1 comments)

I would just like to get some feedback on my home that you showed...AGAIN???? - 01:29 PM
I would just like to get some feedback on my home that you showed...AGAIN????by Kaushik Sirkar, Chandler AZ REALTORChandler Arizona Real Estate
This was not an issue a couple of years ago when we were in the midst of a HOT and CRAZY market.  Multiple offers, homes selling the day they went on the market, etc.  But my how times have changed.  Homes can sit on the market for months now in the Phoenix market.  Many months.  Apparently there are markets that are actually worse, significantly so for sellers.  What has this led to?
In my opinion, unnecessary phone calls.  If I show … (13 comments)

Home prices in Phoenix, Arizona down since January 2007! Sellers competing with 53,500 other Listings in our MLS! - 11:33 AM
Sales prices have steadily headed down since January 2007. For the most part, those homes that were listed four, six, eight, 12 months ago were listed too high! Therefore, they missed a window of opportunity to sell their homes. Just as we, as Realtors, buyers, sellers, need to watch the market to "buy" a home, we also need to pay attention to how to price and "sell" a home. Many want to list their homes a bit higher to see what they can get. Not a good idea in this market. I strongly suggest to sellers that they please list at … (2 comments)

Showing Property in the Rain - 06:56 PM
We've been so short of rain that lakes and ponds are drying up, docks are out of the water, lawns are brown, and watering restrictions apply. Also, like never before, we may wake up to the smell of smoke from fires hundreds of miles away.
This weekend it looks like rain, which already started today. Naturally all of the team is scheduled to be showing property!  I tell clients
if the house looks good in the rain, you know it will be wonderful in the sunshinewhat better time to see if the roads or property are likely to floodgood time to check for … (17 comments)

Good Words for a Friday in the Rain (9) - 07:15 AM
Sharing a Helen Keller quote is a full circle moment in life.
I can remember, as a child of about 10 years old, first learning of her in school. Helen Keller became the first inspirational hero I would deeply connect with.
It has been many years since I read Helen's words... but WOW.
This woman saw so much of what is blind to many.
See It Forward...

MANGIA! MANGIA! and Celebrate Active Rain in Chicago-land this June 16th - 04:47 PM

Don't FORGET the PAR-TAY RAIN CLOUD is moving to the MIDWEST on June 16th!
We picked a site that would be easy to access from surrounding states of Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa.
In my original announcement post I pretty much knew none of the details.
BUT!!! No we've finalized the location at a Restaurant ICON that originated in Chicago as part of the Lettuce Entertainment Group of restaurants.
So taaaaa daaaaa! We will be celebrating Saturday afternoon for lunch, adult libations (if you want) and rain soaked Birthday Cake at: Maggaino's Little Italy in Oak Brook... where being loud and festive is a good thing.

A Note About "Credit Repair" - 02:41 PM
Perhaps one of the biggest scams being perpetrated against a greedy, uneducated public today is the scam of "Credit Repair". I get the emails every day and solicitations from "Credit Repair" experts wanting me to refer my clients to them to have their credit repaired. Here are 10 things you need to know about credit repair:1. You can do the same thing for yourself for free or next to free. A staff member at my office can and will provide instruction and guidance at no cost to you (in Georgia and Florida) and point you to official government resources to help … (9 comments)

Minerva Park in the summer... - 09:29 AM
I first drove through Minerva Park in the winter... in 1990. Sometimes I think Minerva Park with it's lakes, ravines, streams and trees is prettiest in winter.
Yes I think Minerva Park is prettiest in the winter... except when it is spring and the flowering trees are blooming and the daffodils and tulips are blooming... then I think Minerva Park is prettiest in the spring.

Naperville Foreclosures increase - 01:31 PM
Today's Naperville Sun reported an increase in foreclosure properties in Naperville. ( Read the complete story: http://tinyurl.com/2b9eux )
The threat of foreclosure affected 57 percent more Naperville families in 2006 than it did in 2005, according to a recent report by the National Training and Information Center, a Chicago affordable housing advocacy group. According to the report, foreclosure proceedings were initiated on 209 Naperville properties in 2006, compared to 133 in 2005.

New Orleans Warehouse District, Historic Renovation - 09:02 PM
The Cotton Mill Condos in the New Orleans Warehouse District is an historic renovation of a cotton mill that operated in the late 1800's near the Misssissippi River. This was a destination point for cotton from the south. Cotton was a major crop in the south until synthetic fabrics were developed in the 1950s. The units were first converted into rental apartments by HRI in the 1990s in order to meet a growing trend for urban and downtown living. many of the units were of different configurations shapes and sizes. They were phased in as condos in 2004. By 2006 all 288 were … (2 comments)
