BUT OFFICER..... - 12:55 PM
 FISHING PERMITS FOR BI-STATES
There is a watery border separating Missouri and Arkansas in the White River System, but there is not a visable line that boaters or fishermen can see.
Fishing Table Rock, Norfork or Bull Shoals reservoirs used to be confusing for anglers.  All three lakes touch both Missouri and Arkansas territory.  So what's a person to do?  Many bought two licenses - one for state residents and one for out-of-state.
Fishing these areas with only one license could get the fisherman in trouble if a boat drifted into the next State's jurisdiction, and be cause for an expensive citation, if … (2 comments)

IT'S HERE! - 03:03 PM
FROG SEASON HAS ARRIVED
Missouri frogging season opened June 30 and runs thru Halloween, October 31.  Limits are eight bullfrogs or green frogs daily and 16 in possession.

In Missouri, frogs may be taken with either a hunting or a fishing permit.  With a hunting permit, you can take frogs with a pellet gun, longbow, crossbow, hand net or with your bare hands.
A fishing permit allows you to use your hands or a hand net, a gig, a longbow or hook and line.  Frog hunting is legal and most effective at night with an artificial light.

STONE COUNTY PLANNING - 03:28 PM
CHANGE FOR PLANNING AND ZONING
A new agenda will be used for Stone County Planning and Zoning meetings due to the large number of people attending the meetings.  The last four months has seen crowds from 300 to 400  attending to express their concerns about some requests for zoning changes.
A total of 150 people will be allowed into the court room.  There will no longer be anyone allowed to stand in doorways, stairwell or in front of the elevator.  There will be staff members and Sheriff Deputies to assist with a crowd.
Safety has become a big concern for everyone.  A meeting was … (0 comments)

SHELL KNOB FISHING REPORT - 03:45 PM
END OF JUNE
Temperatures have been rising and most areas of the lake are over 80 degrees.  Lake level has dropped to 917.5, but that could be going back up after some substantial rains.  June has proven to be a record year for rainfall in the Ozarks.

The water remains quite clear on Table Rock.  Catfishing is very good on trot lines baited with small bluegill or cut shad.  According to Tom Koob, Shell Knob's author and fishing expert, use liver , worms or cut shad for rod and reel.  A two hook rig is helpful with keeping these baits on the … (0 comments)

What is a VA Loan? - 10:20 AM

A VA Loan is a loan made by a bank to an eligible veteran that is guaranteed by the Veteran's Administration. The VA Loan was authorized in 1944 through the original Servicemen's Readjustment Act known as the GI Bill of Rights. The GI Bill was signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Among other benefits it provided eligible Veterans with the ability to obtain a Federally Guaranteed Home Loan with no down payment. This program was designed to provide housing assistance for veterans and their families. It has enabled many veterans to achieve the dream of homeownership. The GI Bill … (0 comments)

How Does Your Property Insurance Compare? - 06:39 PM
While property taxes are the subject of a lot of conversation right now, property insurance has taken a bit of a back seat to it.  Those living in Florida will remember that just a year ago many were getting cancellation notices or substantial increases in their annual premiums.  Last week Governor Charlie Crist announced the launch of a new state-run website that serves as a starting point to help Floridians find the insurance policy best suited to their needs.

Florida Home Inspector Licensing Law - 06:44 PM
Quick quiz for you. What industry licensing, experience, and educational requirements does Florida Law require Home Inspectors to have. It may surprise you to learn that the answer is ZERO. Phase 1 Of Tax Plan Is Now The Law - 06:48 PM
On Thursday June 21, 2007 Gov. Charlie Crist signed into law the first phase of property tax reform which means a savings of about 6 or 7 percent to all property owners, including second homes and commercial property. This is just the first phase, so Florida property owners shouldn't be disappointed on a relatively small first year's savings, estimated to be around $174 - $199. Florida voters will decide in late January, 2008 whether to adopt the second half of the plan.
