Should There Be a Limit On What Type of Services a Real Estate Licensee May Provide? - 01:13 PM
I was asked a question from a fellow ActiveRainer if real estate agents should be able to discuss credit scores and give advise on ways to improve credit scores. It originated with the context of discussing FICO scores. This question opens up an even bigger question. Should there be a limit on what types of services may be provided with a real estate license?
As we get more and more into the core of the real estate service business and try to justify our existence , it might not be a bad idea to be providing agents that have an interest ,an opportunity to … (35 comments)

Unoriginal Blog Content Can Harm Your Business - 08:22 PM
Blogging started out as a personal tool to share our daily tidbits with friends and families living miles away. Now, blogging has become a marketing tool. We use it to drive our site traffic, to add our credibility and to road test ideas. But just because you blog, it doesn't mean people will read it. Anyone can start a blog very easily. Some people writes multiple blogs. Some have become professional bloggers who can make $100,000 a year. And Even my 7-year-old cousin has a blog!
Here are a few reasons why unoriginal blog content can backfire and hurt your business:

Mortgage Market Update - 08:46 AM
Friday's bond market has opened in negative territory following the release of this morning's Employment report. The stock markets reacted favorably to the news with the Dow up 51 points and the Nasdaq up 6 points. The bond market is currently down 8/32, which will likely push this morning's mortgage rates higher by approximately another .375 of a discount point over yesterday's morning rates. The Labor Department gave us today's June's employment data. The key readings for last month didn't really show a surprise with the unemployment rate at 4.5%, average earnings up 0.3% and 132,000 new jobs added to the economy. … (1 comments)

How Mortgage Rates are Set - 08:50 AM
One of the main things that you might have always wondered about is how mortgage rates get set. Well, you do not need to wonder any longer. Let's take a much closer look at  really how mortgage rates are determined. The way that the secondary mortgage market works, through companies like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, is when government founded agencies buy loans from lenders. They will either hold these loans in portfolios or put them with other loans into mortgage backed securities. The securities are sold to Wall Street firms, mutual funds, or other types of financial investors. Although you … (1 comments)

The agent listed the … (9 comments)

First Half Of The MLB Season - 09:49 AM
First Half of the seaon comes to an end in Baseball.... Just like last year the Red Sox are in First place with a nice lead. Will that fall apart again this year in the 2nd half?  Last year the finished in 3rd place behind the Blue Jays. The Red Sox have not had a real bad run yet this year and been pretty healthy. I did see a few injuries learking.... … (0 comments)

Open Houses, Are They Attracting Visitors? - 09:58 AM
Are you getting visitors to your open houses?
I have been working with my Realtor Partners at open houses for a few years now and it seems that over the past few months less and less people go to open houses. The last open house I attended had 4 visitors and 2 were neighbors that just wants to see the house. If seems as if people just don't visit many open houses as much as they use to. The market is still busy for me and my agents but they deals are coming from private showings not open houses.

Places to fish if you live in or near Tomball, Texas - 07:41 PM
I've mentioned before that I like to fish. Well, people new to the area may not know where to go so here's my suggestions. By the way, I highly suggest you get a fishing license because the rangers are out and looking for those of you that don't have one! All of these locations are within an hour drive of Tomball.
If you don't have a boat then  you need to find somewhere to go where you can fish from the bank and these are the places I've scouted out for you already. These of course are not the only places to … (0 comments)

For those of you that may consider moving to Hockley or Waller, your kids will most likely be attending one of the schools in the Waller School District. I have 6 kids that have attended school in this district for the past 9 years and we have had a mostly favorable experience. Here's my take on our experience to date.
For reference, here is their website...

Skagit County Residential Homes Sales Statistics - June 2007 - 12:30 PM
As we enter the Summer market in Skagit County, we have 1/3 more homes Active on the market than we did this time last year... This could mean that a market slow-down is on the way and it could mean that the real selling season is simply starting a bit later this year. Afterall, we had a very rough Winter this year and a lot of things got messed up for a lot of people.
So far this year, I've personally been seeing solid market sales, though I have noticed it taking a bit longer market time for Listings to sell. - Increased inventory is giving Buyers more … (2 comments)

RESULTS ARE IN FOR JULY 8 - 02:25 PM
Ranking are in and with these rankings I realize my first opinion of leaving the group was correct - I will be posting my last post later tonight or tomorrow -
I need to focus on other avenues to get my ranking to stick - getting lost in Google is one thing... but dropping out after all this time is too much.  Not to sound selfish, but I have got to focus on my ranking.
Here is the link for the current results - http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pUFxkMarIqL6scOmtb5B4Tw
Many of us dropped but Marchel and I really fell to the pits of the sandbox
