Same Field - Working hand and hand! - 09:02 AM
We are all in competition for the little business that is out there!
OK, I know you are the best at what you do and offer the best service and rates... I know I know!
But, why not expand on that and be even better by meeting those in the same field and learning new ideas across the board? I am not talking about those who you compete with in the same city, county, or even state! I am talking about those out of state! Yes, I am talking with other title companies in Arizona, Florida, Maryland, and Ohio right now … (2 comments)

I have been spending a lot of time researching technology for the Realtor from tablet PCs to PPC ad campaigns and I thought that I would share my tech arsenal with all of you here on ActiveRain.  I am always looking for ways to become more efficient through the use of technology and I have found it useful to hear how others use these tools in their business.

Featured Realtor.com Blogs - 07:19 AM
How many of you have registered for a Realtor.com featured blog?  Well, I was surprised by how many common city names were available to register at featuredblog.com.  I have scored some huge names!  I would suggest registering your blog name now on realtor.com.  The good news is that the system will allow you to register as many names as  you would like.  All you need is your NRDS number and you are good to go!

My new X61 tablet - 10:38 PM
I am posting this blog from my new Lenovo tablet PC X61. This is my latest tech addition and it is one piece of technology that I have not seen many agents in my market utilize. The benefits of this computer are too numerous to list in one post.  I decided to add this primarily for prospecting purposes. It will allow me to go door knocking and have access to data while out in the field. It will also allow me to access data while out in the field with clients. The most interesting part of carrying this piece of technology … (4 comments)

Columbus homes are made of "sugar and spice and everything nice" - 10:59 AM
Oh no... that's little girls are made of,  of course...
and the stereotype is little boys are made of  "snakes and snails and puppy dogs tails..."
Columbus homes are made of wood, brick, stone, vinyl, aluminum and sometimes "Other."
When I read a Google description of what Tucson Arizona homes are made of I see "mud and termite poo..."
Tucson Homes Explained

Really? How earthy!
The Google link to Tucson' HouseChick Kelley's Blog perplexed me until I read the entry.  I am in the upper Midwest, the Great Lakes States area... Southwestern US building materials could include mud and termite poo  for all I know.  Adobe is foreign … (3 comments)

Blue Man Group Coming to West Virginia - 04:45 AM
Tall One asked me yesterday about the Blue Man Group. One of her friends was excited because they're touring, and they'll be in Charleston on November 6th for their "How to be a Megastar" Tour. Check out tour dates and buy tickets here, if you like.
Having never heard of them, Tall One had no idea what to expect. I love my computer, I can find nearly anything in seconds. We went to YouTube and had a whole buffet of Blue Men to choose from. We liked this one best, and the message is worth sharing.
When we play the "When … (24 comments)

Flowers and a Lot of Heart - 12:42 PM
This morning Georgeann and I went across the street to Teays Valley Flowers & More to get flowers for a coworker.  We braved the traffic of Teays Valley Road and just hoofed it.
I hadn't been there in a while I was surprised at their pretty arrangements and very reasonable prices.  We found what we were looking for (and more!) and got ready to leave.
Before we walked out the door, Georgeann told the women there that she always uses them for flowers, ever since her grandson in the service asked her to get flowers for his wife while I was in … (24 comments)

Your Personal Info & Property is now More Secure! - 04:40 PM
Our local Board of Realtors has made a very wise decision.  All Realtors that are members of the Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors have now entered into a more "High Tech" environment for their clients.  We now have a "SAFEMLS" system for our MLS Database.
For the last six years, all Realtors have a user name and password to access our MLS Database.  All Realtor-members have access to the "Not For Public" versions of homes that are on the market.   Most Realtors can email "Public Versions" of listing sheets to their customers.  The Public Versions do not disclose the sellers name, phone numbers, … (3 comments)

Top Producer 8i - 08:35 AM
For those of you who are curious to hear any new bit of information that's out there on it, here are a few from Top Producer's customer service manager, from Real Talk.
"One of the biggest benefits to the online version is going to be realized by our subscribers again this year; upgrades and enhancements are no additional charge. So, in a nutshell, the price will be the same for subscribers who hold a Top Producer 7i license prior to the 8i release. Although official pricing has not been decided, there will likely be a small increase for new 8i subscriptions. We haven't yet … (23 comments)

LinkedIn - 10:57 AM
If you're on this site, I don't have to tell you twice that blogging and networking sites have taken off. Most recently, MySpace and Facebook seem to be the most popular.
Has anyone heard of LinkedIn? For anyone who hasn't heard of it, it is similar to facebook, except its purpose is for networking with other professionals - and seems to be a good tool to source referrals.  Has anyone here had any luck using this service? It seems useful, but we're curious if this has turned into good leads for anyone?
Thanks!

August 2007 Market Report - 05:07 PM
While the home resale market declined in August Sun City was a bit of a bright spot. Recordings in Sun City for August 2007 units sold were the same as August 2006. Median prices were down somewhat, but the difference may be accounted for by the higher percentage of condos for sale vs. houses for sale.
Sun City West and Surprise units sold were down between 10 and 12%, fairing very well when compared to Peoria and Glendale AZ. Glendale was the biggest loser with a decline in units sold of almost 33%.
September should show some slight gains because of the recent actions … (0 comments)
