When was the last time you looked at a new Web 2.0 startup and said to yourself, "I must be getting old, because I don't get this one at all!"This morning? Yeah. Me too! 
After working five years as a real estate agent I was able to retire. I moved from Orange County to Palm Springs. My wife and I were living in a two million dollar estate home, 4500 square feet with a 1/2 an acre to maintain. Since we want to travel the world, WE DECIDED TO SELL.
I'm moving on to do other things. I've got a number of things to wrap up before I go, but from now on Jonathan, Bob, and Nicole will be around to help you with ActiveRain. The hot mortgage topic these days is the American Homeownership Act of 2007 Bill: H.R. 1852 and the anticipated changes that it is expected to bring to lending guidelines for FHA Mortgages. The entire Bill can be found at H.R. 1852 for those of you who would like to see all the details of the Bill. However, Rick Grand did an excellent job on summarizing some of the highlights of the Bill in his blog tilted H.R. 1852 Passes the House for those of you that are not up to reading the whole Bill.
Seems like a day doesn't go by around AR without some moaning and complaining about how business is dead...leads have dried up....real estate is dying...on and on and on!
I have spoken with with folks at Active Rain and at Inman. Just as there was a "Bloggers & Beer" in San Francisco, we want to have a social gathering in New York for this January's Real Estate Connect in Manhattan. Adam Waldman and I visited on the phone last night and he suggested we go to Little Italy and meet at a place called Sal Anthony's. What we need is a name for our group gathering. Here's where the contest part comes in...

Being that I'm on the trailing end (please Lord, let it be over soon!) of sending kids through college, this recent article in the local paper caught my eye. I noticed it not for how this information will benefit me, but how others can be saved from 4 years of a Top Ramen diet. There's always lots of action going on when it comes to Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine in Hot Springs. There are now more than 4,000 residences along the shorelines filled with people enjoying life on the lakes. 
Yes mortgage company's are coming and going, but we are here to stay!!! 
Itook two listings a while ago - one 6 months ago and one 4 months ago. One has expired and one is getting ready to. Both were overpriced and I fully expected to see price adjustments that would get them in line to sell. Little did I know that our market would be affected like most of the nation by the subprime meltdown. Back when I took these I expected Austin to continue to see strong home sales and healthy appreiciation. Sales have slowed and prices are stabelizing. With the prices of homes still out of reach for some seniors, there is a great alternative to buying a condominium or renting, River Mountain Mobile Estates. This small, well maintained community of manufactured homes is located in the city of Henderson in the southeast.
Can anyone tell me about "Water Rights" in Bastrop County, TX.??? I have 200 acres for sale and my clients have the water rights... I was approached today by someone asking to buy the water only and I don't know much about water rights. The county told me the land sits atop 2 very large aquifers. Can you sell water under your land??? Can the state stop you from pumping the water??? Any help would be nice.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the St. Elias Mediterranean Festival, put on every year in downtown Austin by St. Elias Greek Orthodox Church. The block is closed off to traffic, and for two nights every October, there is Mediterranean food, booths, singing, and dancing, both professional and amateur.
