I'll be heading to the Purdue - ND game this weekend to hang with the college pals. these are the guys that got me into smoking fine cigars. Well, smoking cigars period. I love a good smoke, I found shop here some time ago and they have a great house brand, but they discontinued it. I am so bummed. It was a light wrapper, very smooth and delicious mild taste. I will miss that one till I find it again.

Brian Hutchinson of the National Post has written an article about the affordability challenges facing Vancouver home buyers today. Its a fairly typical story of a fellow and his wife who didn't buy into the real estate market 3-5 years ago and now find that they are priced out of the market. Take a look. There are links to articles about similar issues in Toronto and another one about falling prices in Calgary there as well.

So, you're at a listing appointment and your clients turn to you and say, "What's wrong with pricing my home a little high?" Is it at that point that you want to strangle them or what? My job, as far as I see it, is to educate my clients so that they KNOW what's wrong with that picture. A high price scares away many buyers because they can go elsewhere and get more house for the money. They just won't perceive the value. Over priced homes usually sell the competition first. Several things are prompting me to get the SRES Designation. It's easy to forget what my generation takes in stride isn't always so easy for others. For the past few months, I've been working with my mom and two of her best 'girlfriends' as the decided to sell their homes and move into new construction condos. They are all widows and have been emotionally up and down, so worried about the cost, the packing and the move. I love weight training... have been doing it off & on (mostly on) for over 25 years. I've been in a new neighborhood gym that just opened up last November, and it's taken awhile to meet some of the regulars. Like me, most of these folks are pretty serious about their workouts and there's not a lot of socializing going on. 
Today the Brokers in La Pine found out just how big of a clutz I really am. I keep telling them I am but some of them thought I was exaggerating. So, I made my gracefullness known as I walked or should I say tripped my way down a driveway. Yep, I fell right there and laid on the ground for a minute or two before getting up.

I never cease to be amazed at how profound our surroundings effect us or what they can cause. I knew when these problems surfaced in my house, some ENERGY was being stirred up, just didn't realize the extent of it. After five full weeks of intense and deep digging to level the ground I was curious to see what would eventually SURFACE. I somehow thought all the good things would come to light but I realized something important that I should have already known: You need to fully let go of the OLD in order to bring in the NEW.
