(Sept. 4, 2007) - During August, Lee County Community Development issued 63 permits for single-family homes to be built in unincorporated Lee County, Bonita Springs and Fort Myers Beach. That is the lowest monthly number of single-family home permits issued by Lee County since November 1981, when 45 were issued. Residential permits were valued at $16.9 million. Almost 80 years ago, United Country Real Estate published their first magazine of listings. We're still going strong! The flagship catalog, the United Country Color Catalog, is published twice each year and has an almost cult like following. 
Clark Howard is have a broadcast about the current state of the real estate market next week. Everyone in Atlanta has heard of Clark Howard who is a well respect guru on all things consumer related. Centerville, OH Real Estate Market Update Information 
I lost a listing a week ago. I was surprised. They had moved to California and I had over 30 showings on the property but no offer. 
There were 15 sales in New Paltz listed in the MLS. 
Federal and state regulators are busy at work. They came out again today to try to charm the mortgage industry into working with at-risk homeowners to help them avoid foreclosure. Their main focus is on the subprime borrower who acquired a home loan with a spotty credit record. This time they would like the loan servicer sector, the conduit between the homeowner and the investor who bought mortgage securities on the secondary market, to provide any relief they can think of.
When you put something out there...say, a giant 12-foot version of your head on a billboard, for example...you just never know what might come back to you!
