Next Year Keep Vista Away From the Space Needle! - 02:29 AM
Wow, I stayed up to watch Seattle's "New Year's At The Needle" fireworks extravaganza coordinated to movie theme songs.
The 8 minute show lasted about 12 minutes because the fireworks kept stopping, the music played with no fireworks, the fireworks went off sporatically with and without music, and finally some guy just went around manually setting them off....
Oops!
At least the 5 coordinated marriage proposals went off without a hitch... well that is except for the guy that dropped the engagement ring in the grass... All the women said Yes!
The TV commentators kept saying it is a computer glitch... I guess they'll have to keep Windows Vista away from … (2 comments)

Is Skagit County Prepared for a Flood or an Earthquake? - 03:47 PM
In 2007 Washington was pounded pretty hard with rain.... There was devistating flooding in Southern Washington that destroyed a lot of homes and closed I-5 for days.In 2006 Washington was pounded pretty hard by wind storms... I remember that at one point, over a million people were without power.Fortunately Skagit County was let off pretty easy by mother nature in both of these storms. Skagit County had damage, but we were not devistated by the storms like other areas were.... Barrie Go Train is a Fact! - 01:12 PM
It is a fact! The first Barrie's GO train commuter trains left Barrie's south-end station for the first time on Monday, December 17, 2007.
Trains will first leave Barrie's GO station getting into Toronto's Union Station. From Toronto, trains begin departing at approximately 4:10 p.m., according to GO's schedule.
There are four trains out in the morning, four trains back at night.
·         Single (one-way) fare: $10.30
·         10 rides: $93.75.
·         Monthly pass: $331

Buffalo Grove Real Estate Sales- Last week of December 2007 - 01:25 AM
First of all Happy New Year to each and everyone of you!
My first New Year's resolution is that I will keep you informed about the local real estate market in 2008!
Buffalo Grove single family real estate sales stayed relatively strong even into the last week of 2007.    6 homes went under contract this week ranging from $323,000 to $879,000.   The average market time of these listings was 161 days.  See my previous blog about Buffalo Grove's earlier  December activity

Weathermen and Their Predictions - 07:31 PM
I am sitting in front of the fire all snuggled in for the night.  We are expecting the coldest night of the year and maybe just a little bit of snow.  The weathermen are in such conflict.  On the different networks they are predicting everything from a dusting to  2 inches of snow.  I would enjoy a nice snow and take a snow day and build snowmen with my kids.  My prediction is that it will be a cold night and no snow tomorrow morning and therefore no excuses for not getting out and going to the office.  We shall see.

Whoo Hoo! Happy 2008! - 10:26 AM
Okay, now, get going with those goals.  Make goal boards, reminders and give yourself the pat on the back when you complete that very first accomplishment.  You should take a small celebration for yourself.  It can be as simple as a day off, a manicure, new pair of shoes, dinner out with your special someone:), etc.  The celebration, no matter how small, will make you feel a better sense of your accomplishment.  Be sure to review those goals every day.  Set a 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 120 days goals.  Then, look back.  See if you need to rethink or improve … (15 comments)

As most of us know, video is rapidly becoming the most used medium for all kinds of marketing...Just look at what Google paid for YouTube.  And real estate marketing is about to jump to another level with video being the engine that will drive this new force.  Oh sure, video has been around for awhile with virtual tours and the like, but it's about to "ramp up" with applications like video email, for example.
