Rock Riders Motorcycle Club...Explore Bergen County! - 06:16 PM
The other night I came across the Rock Riders Motorcycle Club of Glen Rock, NJ.  This is a great club where motorcyclists can get together for weekend rides across Bergen County and New York.  While I am not a motorcyclist myself, I bet this is a great way to unwind after a long week and explore and enjoy the scenic beauty of the county.  Anyone interested should contact joeraccioppi@optonline.net.
I know there are plenty of Active Rain motorcycle enthusiasts out there!

Great Connections, Great Information! - 08:33 PM
The Turning Point in Orlando was INCREDIBLE!  We learned so much in two days!  Met so many good folks from across the United States and Canada. The room was full of enthusiasm and promise.  Brian Buffini delivered!  Referrals were flying all over the Orange County Convention Center.  New friends were made, and old friendships enhanced.  The Buffini staff and Coaches were on top of their game.  J'amie Nowak did the breakout session for the Broker/Managers. She was so good with the presentation, we didn't want to break for lunch!  100 Days to Greatness is now averaging six transactions per agent.  Even they … (11 comments)

Retiring BACK to Long Island and New York City? Are You NUTS? by Feng Shui Long Island - 02:29 PM
NEW YORK CITY.  You either love it or you hate it.  I recall many years ago as one after another neighbor starting leaving my old block when growing up in Wantagh, Long Island.  They'd had it with the ever escalating prices and taxes and the winters were just too difficult.  Most went South, to warmer weather and a few went out west to Arizona, ready to relax and retire comfortably.
Those have always been my thoughts as well.  The winters her can get more difficult and I have much less of a tolerance to the cold.  But the rest of the year … (26 comments)

New Hampshire the Beautiful - 09:22 PM
Tuesday I got up very early and drove to Conway New Hampshire where I was the guest speaker for the White Mountain Board of REALTORS.
I presented my class called Consumer Centric Market, which is all about web 2.0 and how to reach the Net Generation. The program went real well, I could see the excitement in the crowd and the feed back has all been fantastic.
You know you've succeeded when participants take the time to contact you after a class and tell you how much they enjoyed it. It's always nice to hear positive feedback. One agent Meghan Simone … (17 comments)

When is a good time to buy Real Estate in Tampa?, - 11:26 AM
When is a good time to invest in Real Estate?By: Rae Catanese, Realtor
I was speaking with a friend of mine about the Real Estate Market in the Tampa Bay Area. The conversation started by her saying "I want to buy a house this year." Since she is a friend, I wanted to give her the best advice in my opinion as a Real Estate Agent.Through our website, we are able to track what people are searching for when they go online. Over the past couple months we've seen an increase in people wanting to know when the Real Estate Market is … (1 comments)

Salt Lake City Remains #1 in Forbes.com Best Cities for Jobs in 2008 - 05:23 PM
Salt Lake City, UT looks like it will remain the #1 best city for Jobs according to Forbes.com in 2008.  The high tech-job abundance along with the low cost of living in Salt Lake make it a very desirable place to live and work. Unemployment is ranked #2 and job growth is ranked 8th in the nation.  With housing market on the low end of the national average this makes SLC an even better bet in 2008.
Park City, UT is only 20 minutes outside of SLC and has 3 major ski resorts which account for some of the best ski terrain in the west.  For … (0 comments)

Deadbolts: Can They Be Unsafe? - 11:36 AM
I think everyone knows that deadbolts are a great safety item.  However, can a deadbolt ever be a safety hazard?  YES.
Now I've got you hooked and you just have to read more... perfect.
Some people use double-keyed deadbolts in a house.  That means that you have to have a key to open the door whether you're outside the house or inside the house.  So what's wrong with that?  It just an extra safety precaution, right?
The problem is that these double-keyed deadbolts can block emergency and fire exits in a home.  What if there's a fire and your only exit is the door … (14 comments)

Sustainable lifestyle, the earthship that we built in Colorado - 07:59 AM
My husband and I bought 200 acres of Colorado Ranch land just west of Pueblo, Colorado, in the first phase of  Red Creek Ranch, Newton,  off of Hwy 96 on the way to Wetmore,  south of Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs, on our honeymoon 13 years ago.  We were living in downtown Phoenix at the time,  and just completing a historic renovation.  It was time for us to move to the country! The wide open spaces appealed to us as they had to  the cattleman - Goodnight so many years before. (made infamous recently in the Lonesome Dove series).
After our visit and purchase of … (6 comments)

Through Jesus You Can Take Authority Over Chaos -- Jesus' Miracles for Christian Realtors #6 - 09:01 AM
The closing escrow officer calls and she's missing one sheet of paper - the house won't close as scheduled (and you were counting on that closing -- it's Friday and there's a three day holiday weekend ahead.
Your broker says, "You can't do that!" - you're sure he or she doesn't understand, and you're going to lose a deal.
The fire department comes by and condemns your listing as unsafe, out of code compliance, and a fire hazard.
You've worked on selling a particular property for almost six months, and at last a sound buyer shows up, only to back out because the … (14 comments)

You never know when you say good bye, it may be the last one! - 09:49 PM
I was reading blogs and haven't been able to post as often lately.  So I was catching up on some of my favorite Rainers to see what has been going on.
It struck me that sometimes people go a week or two and you don't see any posts...sometimes it stretches a bit longer and there they are again.  Sometimes they just never come back.
I made a call today....to someone I had lunch with a couple days ago.  We have business relationship that has lasted 5 years and I don't see it changing anytime soon for either one of us.  That's what I … (12 comments)

Conforming Mumbo Jumbo - 08:11 PM
Okay, this is my idea. It came to me the other night as I lie awake mentally tossing around all my deals and wondering how many of them might actually make it to the finish line (i.e. the Closing Table). Thinking as an Investor/Developer, I pondered this: Find a way to buy, construct then market a neighborhood project with an across the board price point that hovers precisely at the Conforming/Jumbo loan rate cutoff--in other words every Unit in this community would have a cost basis price of $417,000 out, or rather, 'in the door'--plus... whatever down payment the Lender requires. … (6 comments)
