The Prettiest Part of Oklahoma - 09:09 AM
Welcome to Integrity Real Estate Services. We live and work in what has to be the prettiest part of Oklahoma, which makes it such a pleasure to be a part of the real estate service business in our great state.We (my husband, Don, and I) used to try to work all of McCurtain and Choctaw Counties, but soon discovered that there’s not enough time in the week to be spread that thin. The county seat of McCurtain County is Idabel.  It  is the largest city / town in the extreme southeast corner of Oklahoma with a population of about 7000. Idabel is only about 20 miles from Texas and about 20 miles from Arkansas,  just a couple of hours from the Dallas – Fort Worth, Texas area and about 3 to 3 ½ hours from the Oklahoma City area or from Tulsa, Oklahoma according to Internet travel sites. Festivals, we have them.  There’s Dogwood days (in Spring in Idabel), Owachita (Festival of the Forest) at Beavers Bend (Summer at Broken Bow Lake), Blue Grass Festival (late Summer at Hugo), annual Watermelon Festival (Summer at Valliant), Fall Fest (Idabel, October), Lumberjack Festival (late summer in Wright City), Beaver’s Bend Folk Festival and Craft Show (Summer Broken Bow lake).  This means that there is always something fun being planned in the area.  Hugo hosts “Balloons Over Hugo” annually.  This year it was in July.  Then there’s always the Christmas parades, Independence Day celebrations on the 4th of July…there’s just always … (0 comments)

"Autumize" Your Home - 10:16 AM

Fall is here, but you would never know it here in good old Boerne.  It's 90 and holding.  Course the grass is dying and in the morning there is definitely a little chill in the air, but we can't pull out our sweaters yet. 
But what we can do is get our homes ready!  Things to do to "Autumize" your home.

Are You Covered by the FDIC? - 10:35 AM
Its a little scary out there right now.  So I thought I would check and see what the FDIC covers and what it does not.
The FDIC protects checking and savings accounts, CD's, and money-market savings accounts, but not stocks, bonds or mutual shares even if you purchased them from a FDIC bank. 
Your bank accounts are covered up to $100,000.  IRA that are held in CD's and money market accounts are covered up to $250,000.
The best way to protect your money by dividing it up between banks.  Putting it in different branches of the same bank will not guarantee … (3 comments)

Republicans want "Easing of Accounting Rules" - didn't - 03:18 PM
Rep. John Shadegg of Arizona, a leading conservative, told a Phoenix radio station Wednesday that he'd be "inclined to vote for the bill" if it raised the cap on federal deposit insurance and changed a rule that forces companies to devalue assets on their balance sheets to reflect the price they can get on the market.
The revised package to be voted on in the Senate, which adds $100 billion in tax breaks for businesses and the middle class, temporarily increases the deposit insurance cap from the current $100,000 to $250,000. The Securities and Exchange Commission said Tuesday it was easing … (0 comments)

Renting to people with bad credit can make you big money! - 12:23 AM
Are you an investor with rental properties, but only seem to be getting people to put in applications that have bad credit? Don't let this keep your investment properties empty! I have some investors who cater to this type of client and don't have problems because they put safeguards in place that not only keep the rent coming on time. They also have rents that are above the market prices for the area, and not by just $25 or $50, we are talking hundreds higher per month.

Buyers don’t say banks don’t have a heart - 10:04 AM
Are in the market for a home that is either in a short sale situation or is already owned by the bank? Don't think just because the home is in this type of situation that they can't be human and get the bank to give you the home over other offers.
When I negotiate for a buyer for a home that is either a short sale or a bank owned property, I have my buyers put in a letter telling the bank about themselves and why they really want the home.

Sometimes you wonder if your Activerain profile is set up to attract the kind of customer you are looking for. Personally, in my profile, I try to show that I care about my family and the community.
