Sellers today feel more in need of a miracle than ever when trying to sell their homes.   A plastic St. Joseph statue is the "miracle magnet" of choice for many. 
The custom of burying a St. Joseph statue when trying to sell a home dates back to at least 1984 in the U.S. but it gained more popularity in 1990's when Realtors started buying mass quantities of the plastic saint, giving instructions to sellers to bury the little guy (can I call a Saint a "little guy"...hmmm maybe not) upside down in the front yard facing away from the home.  I guess burying St. … (0 comments)

Since Hurricane Ike ripped off the roof of my storage building, I am in need of some storage space ASAP.  I would like a warehouse, or building to rent.  No storefront is needed.  It could be in an industrial park, or freestanding.  I want a space of at least 3,000+sf., with electricity, that doesn't flood, safe area, with easy access to load and unload.  I would like it to be somewhere SE of Houston in the Bay area around Clear Lake, League City, Friendswood or areas around there.

In their infinite wisdom the Active Rain Gods felt the need to mess with my mind the past few days. At first I thought I was going mad. "Where is the BLOG button?"

I read a few posts about the same thing, so I was not alone.
Thankfully as I tune in today I am glad to see it has re-appeared. No need for explanations, just please don't take it away again.

Perhaps one third of the people I counsel who want to save their home from foreclosure are fighting an uphill, and oftentimes losing battle.  When they want to fight. I help, but try to temper their expectations, and have them prepare for and accept the eventuality of relocation.
Then, there are situations in which I have a reasonable expectation the homeowner can Fight Foreclosure! and keep the home.
Recently, I spoke with a woman, a casual acquaintance whose home is in the early stages of foreclosure. I asked her to bring whatever documents she had pertaining to the loan's origination and mortgage foreclosure.
