My Power issue of the Day - 08:42 PM
Came home this afternoon to my personal home in Destrehan LA and my exterior Christmas lights were not on. I wonder at first, for I look forward to the site. After entering my home, I notice complete quite and no lights at all. I go outside to see if any neighbors' lights are on. Yes, I could see everyone lights on my street on. So I call Entergy our power company. They turned my lights off by mistake. They had already addressed my issue and turn on my power but turned off my main breaker. Once I flip the main breaker … (1 comments)

Party Time - 12:33 AM

The office party season is upon us.  Although I work the islands of Kauai and Maui, I happened to be in Honolulu this past week so was able to attend the office party for our Waikele office on Friday evening.  It was held at Rumors Nightclub in the Ala Moana Hotel.  We had about 40 people show up and it was unusually well organized so that we all had a great time.  After games and food, we "adjourned" to the dance floor where we pretty much took over the place.  I only regret I didn't get pictures.  The DJ even played the … (1 comments)

Hawaii's new jet service - 01:58 AM
HAWAII HAS NEW JET SERVICE!

In a previous post, I had mentioned that there was going to be a new entrant into the Hawaii interisland jet service market.  Republic Airlines has signed an agreement with our local Mokulele Airline to bring the Embraer 170 Regional Jet to Hawaii.  There are now 2 aircraft in service and I had the pleasure of flying on one of them today.
The jet seats 70 passengers but today there were only 2 of us for a very unique flying experience.  We were directed to the vacant first class area which easily has the most comfortable seats … (4 comments)

Shelter from the Real Estate Storm... under the Umbrella. - 10:56 PM

What has really touched me about ActiveRain this year is the coming together, the help, the support and the camaraderie. The inspiration that has been shared has acted like a huge umbrella that shields us from the elements. Recently, there have had several wonderful blogs that bring a ray of sunshine for the Real Estate Industry and this gives us hope and faith for the coming year. It also helps us to forget the hard times; business hail stones, the housing flood, and the tornado of foreclosures.
2008 has been a tough storm for all of us, but we … (14 comments)

Happy Holidays...What's The Status? - 10:17 AM
Just curious?  What is the status of this group?  Have we decided that this book is on hold until further notice or did we decide that this venture is over?  Forgive me if this decision had already been posted...my mind is not recalling!  :o)
On another note...I hope you are all well and that you all have a wonderful holiday season sharing it with those who are close to you and those you love.  Best wishes for a busy and prosperous 2009!!!
Cheers,
Reece

Jackson Hole to Extend Housing Moratorium - 11:51 AM
Teton County commissioners intend to extend a moratorium on new housing developments in the county. The moratorium was enacted in May 2008 and is set to expire at the end of December, but will now likely be renewed until July 1, 2009 or when the new Jackson Hole/Teton County Comprehensive Plan is updated, whichever is sooner. The debate over whether to allow/encourage new development or close the door on increased population has long been contentious in Jackson Hole. For now, at least, the county government is leaning towards limiting development. That will tend to boost housing prices even further, as there … (0 comments)

Colts Neck Realtor Quote Of The Day - 03:00 PM

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens.........
not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life............
A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes........
It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results.

La Paloma Home on the Golf Course for Sale - 02:05 AM
La Paloma Homes on the Gold Course for Sale

Finding the perfect lot in La Paloma can be a difficult feat, especially if you are also looking for a house that has been well maintained and on the Golf Course.
Our current new listing has been owned by the current owners since it was built in 1995. They have used it as a vacation home, and therefore it has been only gently used.  As many of you know, La Paloma has a great Country Club membership that can be joined for both Golf, Tennis and Fitness, as well as a … (2 comments)

Generating Leads Using IDX Tools - 10:38 PM
Here's a cool way to setup your IDX and AR Blog as a Lead Generator.  Jenniffer Lee from RE/MAX has done a nice job, in my opinion, of adding a feature like this to her Blog. Having this option available on a post like this is potential lead generation at its best. Yes, this is a shameless plug for Jenniffer.
I've read thousands of posts on AR, seen hundreds of buttons and "Search MLS" icons, and have seen some really creative images and ways to entice readers and traffic to visit your listings and MLS systems, but this really caught my attention.  … (109 comments)

Lake Norman NC has SNOW skiing too! - 03:28 PM

My home buyers relocating or buying real estate in the Lake Norman area come here for the most part for the beauty, the mild weather and quality of life of lake living. Lake Norman is known for it's great water sports including competitive water skiing.  But, what many don't know is that Lake Norman is only about 90 minutes from some great SNOW skiing as well.
From downhill and slalom skiing for all levels, to snow boarding, ice skating and sledding our local Appalachian mountains have it all and they are truly an easy two-hour drive in most cases!
As of this morning, … (9 comments)

Congrats to “The Parlour” on an Anniversary of an Andover/Ham Lake Dream Come True! - 09:10 AM

A year ago last summer, I was in my favorite Blaine hair salon getting my hair expertly cut and colored by my stylist and friend, Jill Jarvi. As she worked to make me look my best, she told me she was about to embark on her dream of opening her own salon and boutique. It was going open before the end of the year in the Ham Lake/Andover area. Her excitement and drive was evident as she described her dream of an upscale, full service hair salon for women and men. And by the fall of 2007, her dream had … (8 comments)

Its time to put your mind back in the gutter! Protect your investment and clean your gutters and downspouts.
If you haven't noticed winter weather is here in Hawaii. Torrential rains in the winter months are a blessing and a danger if you are not prepared for the sometimes unexpected chaos that can arise from deluge and inundation alike.
In a perfect world, gutters safely channel rain water away from your roof and home and drain into the ground or sewer. In the process foundations, siding, window casements, and doors … (1 comments)
