Priceless (Humor) - 12:12 PM
My husband sent this to me and I had to share...
Jack wakes up with a huge hangover after attending his company's Christmas Party. He didn't even remember how he got home from the party...
As bad as he was feeling, he wondered if he did something wrong. Jack Had to force himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he saw is a couple of aspirins next to a glass of water on the side table. And, next to them, a single red rose!
Jack sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and Ppessed. … (4 comments)

Find Mortgage and Financial News At HousingWire - 11:42 PM
To say that 2008 has been an active year in the mortgage and financial markets would be an understatement. We've seen the mortgage meltdown, investment houses collapsing, changes to down payment assistance, and extreme volatility in the financial markets.
A great resource to help you stay informed about the fast-moving lending environment is HousingWire.com. This independent blog organizes financial news in three main categories: Origination/Lending; Secondary Market/Investors; and Servicing/Default.
How are state legislatures dealing with the housing crisis? When does Wells Fargo think the recession will end? What percentage of loan modifications result in lower monthly payments?

ActiveRain Generated Referrals - 05:55 AM
Just a Quick note to my online associates in the ActiveRain Community.
I've been a member of this community for a couple years now and recently have given 2 referrals to Agents from this site.
Initially, I really didnt think that networking with other Realtors would profit much good, but it has paid off.
I love being able to check out the other realtors profiles & choose an agent according to my clients needs.
Kudos to the ActiveRain Founders!

The time to Refinance may be right around the corner! - 02:21 PM
For anyone that has equity in their home and has a rate above 6% or so it may be a good time to consider refinancing your loan.We haven't seen rates this low in 37 years on a standard 30 year fixed.
There are only a certain amount of people that will be able to do this as they actually have equity, but if you are one of the lucky ones this may be the last shot at SUPER LOW rates for a LONG time...
Contact me if you need the name of a good lender?

Talk Real Estate and Realtor's - 03:39 PM
I have talked about you about a bunch of loan programs and rate watching. Today I want to let you know of a few Realtor's that I have closed transactions with in the past month and I have to say I would recommend them to anyone. This month I just closed three transactions so far.
The first transaction was in Fullerton for a young couple and a teacher and CHP officer (feels good to give back to those who give to our communities). The buyers agent was Todd Foust of Century 21 Discovery and of Foust Asset Development team. He was … (1 comments)

The Importance of Focal Points - 03:39 PM
Notes From Sag Pond

Greetings from my pond in Sag Harbor NY. Today this is what the view from my living room window looks like, we are expecting up to 6 inches of snow. Not exactly conducive to resourcing furniture for my latest 8,000 sq. foot vacant home! So as previously promised I'm providing a snippet from my e-book, Styled by Design, A Guide to the Design Principles of Home Staging (www.styledbydesign.com).
Home Stagers often know this information intuitively but sometimes they may lack the vocabulary or are at a loss for words to express it to their clients. Knowledge … (18 comments)

Stunning White House Ornaments Discovered Through ActiveRain - 08:00 AM
Earlier this week, you may have seen my short little post You Snooze, You Lose - No More 2008 White House Ornaments available from the White House Historic Association.
In true ActiveRain fashion, members stepped up to the plate to help me out.  There were not many comments, but three out of the first six offered suggestions for obtaining them and two people emailed me with specific contact information. What are the odds that such a random post would be read by people familiar with these ornaments, people who may have a source for them?  Talk about quality comments!
But … (19 comments)

Bob Frohardt and Alicia Day led the community sings ("Everyone Sings") which was a lot of fun getting everyone involved. Alicia, a sophomore at FSU … (0 comments)

Get your business plan started today - 09:05 AM
In November of 2006 I was about to leave real estate.  The previous 7 years had been a good run for me, but the market had changed and I was in a position I hated being in.  I was a single mother with not one lead in my pipeline.  It was scary, but I was lucky enough to have a plan B - I am a credentialed elementary school teacher, so I was heading back to the classroom come fall 2007.  I had enough money to sustain me until then, so I was going to take some time off and enjoy myself.
Then … (1 comments)

Laura's Christmas MeMe! - 11:53 AM

I was so happy to see Jeff Belonger's tag for this Christmas Meme, as Jeff holds a special place in my heart as we both started Active Rain at the same and have grown together as bloggers and members. Without AR its very unlikely we would ever have met. That is special to note.
I will do my best to follow the rules of this Meme:)
The Christmas MeMe Rules:
You have to name one gift you would like to have on Christmas. It has to be an object. We all want happiness for Christmas. If you could pick … (10 comments)

With all the reports and speculation about the housing market across Canada, it is no wonder that people are very concerned about the value of their homes. 2009: I'm Bullish! I'm Bearish! My Advice? To Cherish ( Some Amazing Opportunites) - 01:55 PM
I heard this information on the radio also and am glad Janet took the time to write such a well organized and informative blog.
Via Janet Guilbault, California Mortgage Expert (RPM Mortgage):

These sad and shocking statistics came out today about Bay Area home prices, further tarnishing what was once some of the most coveted (and most expensive) real estate in the country: The median price for a home in the Bay Area has plunged an astounding 44.4% from November 2007 to November 2008.
Also shocking: 47.6% of Bay Area homes that sold in November had been in foreclosure at one … (2 comments)

Does the Moon have anything to do with Motivation? - 10:58 AM
So how the heck do you stay motivated in this market?
Yesterday I was in the Beacon Executive Suites Dropping off a check to the Boys and Girls Club of the Money we raised from the holiday party (thank you everyone) and I ran into some folks that were working on building a multi level marketing company. As most of you know, I fully believe in these companies being an engine for passive income if the product is good. They were asking me how I always stayed motivated. They seemed to really like and appreciate what I told them so I … (2 comments)

Being a REALTOR is the BEST Job in the World - 12:28 AM
There is a bit of sarcasm and humor in this post. If you don't like that, or you think it might put a crimp in your day or attitude, better move on. You've been warned.

Being a REALTOR is the best job in the world. There are lots of reasons why this is so.  Let's count the ways.
You are accorded special privileges and honors, being a member of the profession that repeatedly is ranked #1 or #2 - so what if it's the list of most distrusted professions. Now that's an honor. You get to choose your own salary, … (85 comments)

Walkable Neighborhood Series – Solana Beach Real Estate on the Coast - 07:50 PM
In this San Diego real estate series we are exploring the options for buyers who are looking for homes for sale within walking distance of amenities.
While walking distance is rather personal, in general we are considering Solana Beach real estate that is within about a 15 minute walk, and to bolster my own perspective on walking distance we are using Walkscore to calculate walkability. You will find the earlier articles in this series below.
Solana Beach is a charming seaside town about 20 miles north of downtown San Diego, sandwiched between affluent Del Mar and south of Cardiff-by-the Sea.
