Totally awesome.  Don't have much more to say in suming it up, but it was totally great....Church was aweesome, but what made my day was my kids.  Here's the low down...

Residential Energy Audits- The first step in the conservation movement. - 04:31 PM
Nowadays we all want to save energy. Not only to conserve quickly vanishing natural resources, but also to keep our pocketbooks from growing thin. The first step in saving energy is to find out exactly where your home or business is losing it.
You can visit online energy audit sites that will help a little in energy conservation or you can find out where the large problems exist by calling out an energy auditor to pinpoint exactly where energy is escaping. By preforming a Home Energy Audit companies like the Energy Doctors can save you a ton of money on your utility bills. … (1 comments)

Everybody must get MEMEd - even on Christmas Day - 06:19 PM
Carl and Ceil Winters in the Texas Hill Country tagged me on Christmas Eve. Since then, I've been running back and forth to my desk working on this post, in between wrapping presents, finishing up a transaction (yay! Xmas commissions are extra-nice), and shelling out $1,200 for various repairs on my car. I was hoping to avoid my first MEME, but they got me!
The rules:
Create a blog post with a link to the person who so happily tagged you.  See above! List all of these rules in the post. Feel free to cut and paste this. Share 7 things that others may … (9 comments)

Staging the White House - 11:08 AM
Thinking of our new First Family moving into the White House after our friend George... Maybe Michele could use the services of a good home stager to freshen up the place and change the energy.  Yes, I know, they aren't selling the White House, but many of us stagers have a service we sometimes call "Staging to Live" (or sometimes redesign).  Anyone know Michele's number?  She seems like the kind of gal who would appreciate the stagers' approach to interior design; we use what's already there to the best advantage before even thinking about spending money on additional "stuff".  Amazing what … (6 comments)

My (kind of) attitude of gratitude. - 01:11 AM
Today I left the house for some last minute food items and when I got about 6 blocks from the house I realized one of my tires was almost completely flat. Awww.......on Christmas Eve. Really??!! :) I got out of the car.......kicked the tire and had a very tiny temper tantrum. :) I called my house and my daughter answered and I told her the situation and that I would be calling Triple A. After I called them A car pulled up next to me and a wonderful husband and wife gave me their can of fix-a-flat. So sweet and kind, … (5 comments)

Avon Lake Homes: Fireplace safety - 10:51 PM
Thought I share some local tips I have learned as my fireplace was inspected last week.
Have your chimney inspected by a qualified professional every year and cleaned if needed. Use a metal screen or door in front of fireplaces and wood burning stoves to keep sparks and ashes from contacting the floor or furniture. Keep fires small. Ash buildup in the chimney can ignite with excessive heat caused by larger fires. Open a window 1"-2" when burning a fireplace. Good ventilation can provide adequate outside air for combustion and will minimize backventing. Backventing is caused by lack of adequate air that … (0 comments)

Avon Lake Home Selling tips: Make that living room sell!!! - 11:20 PM

Tips for Staging the Living Room
Arrange the room in a conversational way, if it's not arranged like that already. A living room design and layout should be conducive to group conversation and family interaction. Experiment with different arrangements until you get it right. Let the living room breathe. If it's hard to walk through because of furniture size and/or arrangement, remove some items and place them in storage. Purge the living room of family photos and other items that say "you don't live here" to potential buyers. Design and stage the living room so that other people can see … (0 comments)

Selling your Avon Lake Home: What is boxing day? - 11:37 PM
A few years back I celebrated boxing day with some Canadian friends and I curious what the holiday was about it.  Here is what Wikipedia says:
Boxing Day is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Australia , Canada, New Zealand and countries in the Commonwealth of Nations with a mainly Christian population. It is based on the tradition of giving gifts to the less fortunate members of society. Contemporary Boxing Day in many countries is now a "shopping holiday" associated with after-Christmas sales.
This day is historically England's name for St. Stephen's Day - St. Stephen was the first Christian … (0 comments)

Thankful for My Wonderful Christmas - 10:42 PM
I have had the most wonderful Christmas ever.  I was truly blessed this year again.  I had my family with me and we were able to celebrate it together. I love the excitement on the faces of my grandchildren when they opened their presents. My youngest grandaughter ripped open all her presents in record time without actually looking at them. When she finished she was wanting to open the other kid's presents. Naturally, we told her to play with all her toys and let them open their own.
Later in the day, we had our Christmas dinner which consisted of: Baked … (22 comments)

Getting Mortgage Quotes Online - 3 Tips for Internet Security - 01:36 AM
Getting Mortgage Quotes Online - 3 Tips for Internet Security by Brandon Cornett
Thanks to the Internet, the entire real estate process has gotten a lot easier. You can find homes and research prices online, and you can even request quotes from mortgage lenders with less time and effort than in the past.
And while these are certainly good things, you must also exercise a bit of caution when getting home loan quotes via the Web. You need to protect your personal information at all times, and you need to learn about the various companies that offer this kind of web-based … (1 comments)

Tidings of Comfort and Joy - 12:40 AM

This is my Christmas card to all of my Active Rain blog buddies.I really think that this line from the old carol, "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" sort of says it all.  And my wish to all of you for this Christmas (or whatever festive occasion you celebrate) season, and for all of 2009, is lots and lots of comfort and joy!

They're Gone! And I'm In The Recovery Room Blogging! - 11:49 PM
It's been a long day!
I overslept and didn't get up until almost 9, then I tore through the house stashing clutter (so it doesn't count as a clean house), found a clean tablecloth, set the table for nine with the Aunt Bobbie china, and then started cooking.  Then, at 11:53, eight minutes early, they started to arrive.
Does anyone else have family who show up early?
And now, a bunch of hours, a lot of food and libations, lots of presents and fun later, I've collapsed in my comfy chair with my cute little laptop, with Willie they hyperactive Labradoodle … (28 comments)

Just had a conversation with Santa... - 12:13 AM
He is NOT the guy you think he is...
To start with, there are so many people that think that Rudolph is an actual reindeer...  It isn't.  While Santa was here, we went and popped the hood on the sleigh.  That is a serious heavy duty piece of equipment.
Red phase
Ultraviolet
Dynamic
Ocular
LED
Performance
Headlamp
Santa isn't playing reindeer games with that thing... It can actually melt snow for a mile...  It also happens to be one of the ways Sanata keeps warm in the sleigh.  It heats the air in front of him, so he is riding … (5 comments)

Guy's Guide to Christmas... for people that aren't Guys... - 12:48 AM
Ok, as I sit here... just off of a conversation with Santa, and almost ready for my own off-spring to destroy the family room with Santa's bounty (ok, there will be destruction... me and the 4 year old got matching RC cars...), I thought I would pass along some helpful hints to file away for next year for those that might have guys they are buying for.
Of course, those Non-Guys are wondering why now?  Why not last month?
Because the first thing you need to remember about guys is that we weren't thinking about Christmas last month... Christmas is today!  … (9 comments)
