The pity party is over – Now get back to business - 10:04 AM
Blogging is serious business, or at least it leads to serious business if you are doing things right and making it so potential clients can find you and get the information they are looking for. Just like traditional mailings, blogging is farming via the internet.
But, why should I have pity for you if you aren't getting any comments or any featured posts? Don't get me wrong, I have seen some great posts that I thought should have been featured that were not. COME IN MY OFFICE - GET SCANNED - 07:05 AM
I've finally made up my mind to actually do something about the amount of personal and business paper I deal with.
Here's my new ScanSnap scanner. It's just a little larger than about two books but it is definitely a powerful scanner for personal and small business use.
On the business side I've scanned about two filing drawers of client files onto my PC and than back it up to a thumb drive and an online storage site. Every piece of paper and email associated with a transaction is scanned and stored digitally. The only paper files I'll be keeping in … (25 comments)

2008 YEAR-TO-DATE MARKET REPORT FOR LAKE ARROWHEAD & the Surrounding Areas-Compare to 2007 - 04:46 PM
  The following market statistics show a month-by-month (Cross porperties) comparision to 2007 solds. We have had many more sales this year but, as we all know, prices are down. There are still some great bargains out there, waiting for buyers to take advantage of. (I know we have a few more days in the year and, on 12/31, I will make any changes of December solds).

"DRIVE & TEXT" A NO-NO IN 2009. NEW CALIFORNIA LAWS BEGINNING JAN. 1, 2009 - 05:26 PM
 HEAR YE-HEAR YE, all you CALIFORNIA Texting (while driving) experts folks. You only have a couple of days left to "press your luck." Soon it'll be a BIG NO NO.  Since this past July, we've been required to have a hands-free device  while talking on a cell phone when we're cruising down the road behind the wheel. Now, starting January 1, 2009, TEXTING while driving will be AGAINST THE LAW, with the same penalties as talking on a cell without a hands-free divice; $20 for the first offense and $50 for following offenses.

18 Miles of Beautiful Oceanfront/ Seacoast NH/ Location is Everything! - 02:36 PM
Beautiful Seacoast NH is for the most part a consistent real estate market compared to other inland towns. There is only 18 mile of ocean front and everyone wants to be on it. The of course will drive the price up due to the demand. While overall the market has been down but we have maintained a reasonably steady real estate market through 2008 with all it's "down turn." Location, location, location.....it's everything. Seacoast NH is only 45 mins. to downtown Boston, and likewise to Manchester, NH and Portland, ME. Confused in NH ~ The Live Free or Die State - 09:24 PM
I am so confused as to how to activate a hyperlink on a blog. Some very nice AR people have emailed me with how to do it and while I understand what they are telling me I cannot do it. THere is nothing on or withing the blog that has a menue, task bar, tools to try to get to the "chain" that activates the link. Has anyone else had this problem? Let me know if you have. I've been able to do this before and see the little chain, highlight and do it but I can not see anything anywhere … (0 comments)

Keeping My Expenses in 2009 - 10:25 AM
Like everyone else, I am always on the look-out for ways to improve my business. As the calendar flips over to 2009, it is a great time to reevaluate some of my business practices.
Right now, I get the job of tracking my personal business expenses done.  It is not sophisticated (receipt envelopes, an American Express card for backup, a separate checking account and an excel spreadsheet).  I would love to hear how you track your expenses.  Do you use Quicken or Quickbooks? My Favorite Kitchen Staging of 2008 - 09:18 PM
Kathy Nielsen  has asked us to share our favorite kitchen "before" and "afters" of 2008. 
Kitchens are one of my favorite rooms to stage.  I like to use warm colors-oranges, greens and reds and always add fruit to stimulate appetites.  I try to encorporate a rooster facing west for good fortune and prosperity. 
Lighting is very important. I work with my clients to invest in unique pendants or fixtures.

A Team Effort - Staging in Mt. Pleasant SC at Saltgrass Pointe - 03:00 PM
This is a beautiful home located in Saltgrass Pointe in Mt. Pleasant, SC.  My team - Bevin Googer, David Moon and myself had to work around the clock to get this home done.  We have been completely swamped and trying to complete projects was getting a bit down to the wire.  The great thing about having a team though is that we can all pitch in to get things done ON TIME!

Bluffton Homes Revealed - Home 3 of 4 - The Edisto at Hampton Lake - 03:11 PM

Bluffton Homes Revealed - home 4 of 4 - The Jasmine at Hampton Lake - 03:17 PM
This was probably my favorite of the four units.  Almost everything in this home was newly purchased with very little left in our inventory after the busy season we've had.  This great 3 bedroom home is located in beautiful Hampton Lake.  If you haven't already checked out the ammenities in the additional photos you should!  Sandals Resorts have nothing on this subdivision!

Only 2 more days.... are you ready for 2009? - 03:36 PM
I've been away from AR for a while now, with so much on my plate that I simply haven't had time.  In the summer I was better able to balance everything, lately I've come to the conclusion that I just need to stop and slow down a little.  2009 is rapidly approaching and I've been working on my business plans, with a lot of preparation and computer time needed to get everything done and ready to go.  That left me wondering how many of my AR friends are really ready for 2009!

A small change - less than $25 - and a new look! - 04:06 PM
Sometimes I could really kick myself for forgetting before photos.  The cabinets in the below photos started out stained a very dark brown.  My assistant, Sue, painted them for my client, added new hardware and did some light staging.  We still knew that this mirror was a huge problem, but with the weekend coming, we left for the day and I took some photos for the agent to use until we could fix the problem on Monday......

This is the last Monday of 2008...whoopee....yippie.... Did you catch the enthusiasm? I really tried!
As the year 2008 passes quietly into the past I am beginning to read more and more posts about how 2009 is going to be worse than 2008.
If you subscribe to the gloom and doom philosophy, it will be a bad year.  If think it, it is. I am not sure how many motivational posts I have read on AR but they are numerous.

Keller Williams Reunion 2009- are you going? - 10:32 PM
I attended my first Keller Williams reunion last year in Atlanta and was overwhelmed by what I experienced!
Not sure what to expect, I was surprised to see Keller Williams Realty banners on all the light posts around the city and especially in the vicinity of the convention center. Atlanta really rolled out the red carpet to greet us and I could not help but feel a surge of pride for the company we are associated with.
