Las Vegas, NV November 2008 High Rise Inventory Update: Still Painful! - 12:43 PM
We have seen the Las Vegas, NV high rise real estate market as a challenged market with an abundance of resale inventory. For several reasons: Too many speculators in that market. They want to close n flip. They are not interested in holding, renting or living in them. Each time a building closes, we see an increase of inventory. Mortgage market madness has reduced the amount of loan products available to jumbo, second, vacation or investor type property owners. The ones who have very little money down and marginal credit, that is. So the buyer pool for both resales and

ALL WORK AND NO PLAY? - 01:33 PM
Tri-Lakes Realtors Celebrate 2008 was certainly a 'Different' year for real estate sales in the Ozarks, and a great year for me when I joined the Tri-Lakes team. Working in the Shell Knob office, one of 5 Tri-Lakes offices which circle Table Rock Lake, I hadn't seen the whole organization together too often, but that was remedied last Saturday. We were all treated to a Christmas and Awards Dinner Party at the Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, MO. And what a marvelous winter wonderland the Big Cedar Lodge was..............acres of beautiful lights and displays everywhere you turned. Big Cedar Lodge

What to do in Tooele, or Nearby !! - 10:47 AM
What a difference 48hrs can make! First of all, let me state that I'm an avid sports fan. Always have been, always will be. My wife, on the other hand, is not. Saturday night found me at the Energy Solutions Arena, home of the Utah Jazz. I was being the good husband, accompanying my wife to the Coldplay concert she's been waiting for for 3 years. Nothing against Coldplay, but my tastes tend more toward Boston, Journey, Styx, The Eagles, etc. Saturday nights show absolutely turned me around. They played with such energy and passion that I couldn't help becoming a fan. It

Leadership Tip From Tooele!! - 10:51 AM
We got some great leadership tips at our latest conference. Most were obviously business related, but as I was driving home it occured to me that perhaps these lessons are better applied in our homes and with our families. I promised myself I would share them. UAR Leadership Tip Achieving Extraordinary Results The most important quality of leadership, the one quality for which you want to be known, is extraordinary performance. With the goal of achieving extraordinary results. These results then serve as an inspiration to others to perform at equally exceptional levels. People ascribe leadership to those men and women who

Focus on Success - 07:01 PM
It's funny. Recently when I talk to agents I seem to get one of two completely opposite responses to the question of "how's business?" Either they tell me it's terrible and they are working a full or part-time job to make ends meet, or they tell me that they are slammed with business and too busy to talk. What's the difference between these two groups? Well, I can't be certain of course, but it seems to me based on my interactions with them that the primary difference is in what they believe. You see, the first group believes the media and

Getting Your Clients To Finally Buy - Positive Programming For Your Clients - 09:02 PM
OK, so a comment from my last post brought me to this idea and it was too long to add to the comments section, so here we go again with another post. So in my last post, Focus On Success in the comments section we were discussing the fact that the media plays such a HUGE role in setting people up to fail. Denise Gray (Coldwell Banker Stucky) said "One of the suggestions at our sell meeting this morning was to stop watching the news. Refuse to participate." Paula Reno Cedar Lake Indiana Realtor, Astro Realty (Astro Realty) said "Now if I can only

"The Wizard of All" or, "Getting on the Right Path at Keller Williams" - 12:16 PM
We made this little video a while back, at KW Market Center #377, Cary, NC, and just absolutely had a great time doing it. Now it is on YouTube for all to enjoy! It isn't groundbreaking, and we set out to perform at a grade school level. I think we nailed THAT. Just a little fun expressing ourselves... What do you think?

As we move closer to Christmas, there is plenty to do in Akron and Summit County Ohio to welcome the holidays. Please note, guys, that Heaven Can Wait is wrapping presents for the benefit of their pet rescue organization. They only rescue pets from the County pound that are due to be killed. A wonderful group.

December 9th.......................... - 01:01 PM
Today is a special day in my life. It is my Grandfather's birthday. My Grandfather on my father's side of the family was killed in a traffic accident when my father was 13 years old, so I only have known one Grandfather in my life. He lived his entire life in Parowan, and is one of the reasons that I now live in Cedar City, just south of Parowan. Some of my fondest memories are each summer he would invite me down to spend a week and the two of us would go fishing. This started about my 8th birthday. We

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas............................ - 01:28 PM
Well, our prolonged fall was cut off last night as we got our first real snow storm of the season. The accompanying cold temperatures seem to verify this today. We didn't really get much snow, which was disappointing, because it appeared to really be an impressive storm last night, with near white out condition for several minutes. One thing to remind people, take extra care now that winter seems to be gripping most of the nation now. I say this because we live near an ambulance center and with the increase in siren activity, along with the sight of red and

How Many Homes Do Buyers Look At Before Making an Offer? - 09:16 AM
I like to equate home buying with the red shoe shopping experience. Women will know what I am talking about. Red shoes, for me, are the hardest shoes to buy. They are special. Powerful. And must be perfect. So, if I walk into a mall and spy the **perfect** pair in a display window, I might be tempted to go to every other shoe store in the mall to see if I can find a better pair of red shoes. I know in my mind that I should just buy the first pair I see, but sometimes I like to validate

LV existing home sales stay on an upbeat course in November - 04:32 PM
The holiday season is upon us although this year it might be more subdued than in a long while due to the overall weakness in the national economy. The mortgage and housing markets have taken unprecedented punishment in most parts of the country that requires extraordinary efforts and just plain old time to turn around. Las Vegas real estate, for its share, has paid dearly for past excesses but has lately shown some flickers of hope that perhaps a tentative recovery may be forming. November stats from Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, or GLVAR, back up the cautiously upbeat sentiment.

Two Years Ago, I went OFF Auto-pilot! - 06:37 PM
Wow, it's been two years already! Two years since I first posted this. Two years since I first stumbled upon the Active Rain Network and wrote a little blog and hoped that perhaps someone, somewhere would read it. Two years which went so quickly, that I forgot about my anniversary until... Todd Clark commented on a post and wished me a Happy Anniversary...How did he know when I'd forgotten? AND THEN... Takara Taylor asked me today, just how many blog posts I'd written & I couldn't remember. Two years ago, contacts via the Internet were so rare, I wondered how

Active Rain - blast from twitter past - looking ahead - 10:35 PM
My first 10 twitter friends My main twitter profile Daltonsbriefs, is now followed by approximately 2100 people, I'm hoping to hit 3,000 sometime in January. Last night though, I went back to look at who were my first 10 twitter friends. I'm listing them here. Most of them, as you'll note, were from the real estate world and were very early adopters on Active Rain, where I first met them all. At 2100 followers I'm way down the list, when matched up against these guys. I guess I can say I'm proud to be part of this group, even though many
