Well, the first month of 2008 is over and what do you have to show for it? Apparently quite a lot.
To bail out home owners or not to bail out...that is the question.
I got a call from an old friend of mine shortly after the New Year. He wanted to consolidate his 1st & 2nd Mortgages into one loan at a reduced term, a financially savvy decision for sure. So, onward we went with the process.
Today started out as many others. I got up early, took care of the pets and if I'm not working that particular day, I try to do my errands early. I had quite a few lined up today and am still cleaning up for The Chinese New Year next week. Thankfully I was home early as well because I received a phone call I WOULDN'T HAVE WANTED TO MISS!
It's no secret.... The genius of this platform? ....It's in the points!
I received a phone call today from a couple who are interested in moving up in my area. They have outgrown their existing home and want to take that next step into a larger home in a more exclusive neighborhood. After chatting with the wife for a few minutes about exactly what they are looking for in a new home, I asked her "How were you referred to me?". I don't have any homes listed in the subdivision she is most interested in, so I was curious what led her to me. Her response was a blogger's dream.

Just when I was starting to get back to blogging here I find out that House Values has made a "minority purchase" of AR which has sparked some interesting posts making suggestions to HV such as the Open Letter To HouseValues (CC. Active Rain) post and two others you can read here and here.Many years ago I was contacted over the phone by HomeGain. This was the first time a lead generating company contacted me and they sure made things sound good. Over $1,000 later and not one decent lead, I learned to hate lead generating companies that charge money up … (4 comments)
Our clients continue to ask opinions on where the market and interest rates are headed. From my vantage point, we are looking at another cut in March of the rate at which the FED loans funds. This would bring the rate down to 2.5%. That is still not as low as we have seen in recent years but along with a good economic stimulus package will at least firm up home prices and make equity loans more accessible. We may see a further drop in mortgage loan interest rates but as Treasury note return goes up the end of a drop … (4 comments)
Some people get "earworms". But more often than not I find myself chasing a musical butterfly. 
There's plenty of doom and gloom in the media these days. I don't know if you've been paying attention, but in my neck of the woods, the volume of home sales (not home prices) is down by about 50% year-over-year. I touched on this in my personal blog on my web site, when talking about the California Association of Realtors forecast for 2008. And a couple of weeks ago, the San Jose Mercury news had a front-page story about the decline in December real estate sales volume - it had plummeted 39.5% from December a year ago in Santa Clara county. … (1 comments)
Hi folks. Have you ever worked with builders that offered to pay your commission, or a portion of it, at time of contract? I have. In fact quite a few builders were offering that during the boom and still are. My policy was always NOT to accept it until the deal closed.

My husband loves rolls and they really are easy. They just take a bit of time to wait for the rising. Believe me you will be emailing me to thank me because these rolls will be all the rage at any gathering.
If you are like me it is always your plan to get more organized! Well, I have found some good tips that seem to be making things a little easier for me! When the Fed lowers interest rates, as it continued to do this week, everyone gets excited and there is a lot of buzz about the real estate market. But - when it comes to you and me - what do these lower interest rates really mean? Here are some examples: Homeowners: If you already have an adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) on a home, you could save hundreds of dollars a month if your loan is pegged to Treasury rates, which have fallen considerably thanks to the Fed's recent cuts. Just a short post to find out if I'm the only one having this problem........I can't seem to "get to" the blogs to post a comment, and just moving around has been insanely slow this afternoon and evening. Perhaps someone else has already written a post, but I don't have the patience to find them.
Need to know where to register to vote? When trash pickup is scheduled? Where do you find the hours of the local city offices?
