14 Hour Continuing Education... a LITTLE prayer support pweeze?? - 09:37 PM
 
Bert Rogers here I come!! I am due for my 14 hour continuing education for the renewing of my real estate sales persons license in the state of Florida.
Would you believe I got the book for this in August last year from the Bert Rogers Company? I renew my license before April 1st every 2 years, as the real estate regulations in the state of Florida require us. When ever you get your license is when you need to renew (on THAT anniversary), they do not tell you to do it at your whim.

WE HAVE SIX APPEAL - 07:07 PM
We Have Six Appeal was the bold headline a Tampa developer sent out to agents and real estate offices - and it went on to say that they were offering a 6% commission on all inventory homes. Nonetheless - the headline did get lots of attention.
That reminds me of a clever ad in the Wall St Journal this weekend, looking for a (summer) Intern Brewmaster - saying that it wasn't ale work, that there was plenty of free brew, and that the applicant should hops to it.

St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul, Minnesota.  I never get tired of photographing this building, both inside and out.  Built in 1905, Emmanuel Louis Masqueray, a French architect trained at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, was selected to design what we know today as the fourth Cathedral of Saint Paul.  The church is made of Granite stone from St. Cloud, MNThe Cathedral's most prominent feature is a 120-foot-wide dome made of curved steel beams, covered with a clay tile surface and overlaid with copper. Katy West Houston Relay For Life - 08:45 AM
The annual benefit walk for the American Cancer Society is taking place in Katy March 28 and March 29.  Keller Williams Katy has a team of walkers.
This event is very special and symbolic.  The walkers, who walk through the night is symbolic of how cancer never sleeps.  On Friday night, when the sun goes down, hundreds of Luminaries are lit in rememberance of those loved ones we've lost to cancer, those fighting cancer and those who are survivors.

Anyone who knows me, knows that a couple of years ago, I was a HouseValues fan.  I bought the leads from Housevalues and from Justlisted and I worked the program like they recommended.  I was even a speaker at one of their HOUSTON seminars one time!  It really WAS a great company. I was a Certified HouseValues Professional with a letter from the HV CEO at the time to prove it!
Then they went public.  The emphasis shifted from agent oriented to stock holder oriented and as the saying goes "you can not serve two masters".

I've just recently started really promoting ActiveRain to my office and my colleagues in adjacent fields.  Today, I realized I'm behind the curve because I just ran into a blog or two that talked about HouseValues buying $2.5 Million worth of ActiveRain.  I don't know if that is a majority share of it or what the idea is behind their acquiring this great platform, but one would suspect that it could ONLY be to sell it's product to the 80,000+ members!

My husband is in the mortgage business and last night he went to a Mortgage Trade Show at The Harbourside in Ft Myers. As soon as he easily got a parking spot right in front of the place, he knew something was up (or down I should say).
There was a pitiful 4 rows of vendors. Also conspicuously missing were the foreclosure/bankruptcy bailout lenders. None, nada ...all gone! Poof! In the old days there could be acres of companies hawking their programs.

Happy Days - 11:40 AM
Everyone loved the television show Happy Days -- at least before Fonzie jumped the shark.  I know that I did.  
Amidst the media doom & gloom, agents dropping out of the business, prices dropping, sales down, foreclosures, and short sales, there are few bright spots in the real estate industry these days.
Today, however was a Happy Day.  While once again disappointed that my CBS interview did not appear today (hopefully tomorrow), the rest of my day today was great.

In Tucson yesterday, the Realtor.com show came to town. I think I got more email invitations to this than any event ever!!!! Every 3 days, or so it seemed, there was an invitation. The VP of ealtor.com, Max Pigman, was speaking on " Market more Effectively in a Changing Market."  I happened to be in town and like to keep up to date, so I signed up and went.
Now, we have 7000 real estate agents in Tucson. They were giving free breakfast as well (which should have be of interest to those agents who haven't sold a house in 6 … (11 comments)

Country Walk - Long Term Market report - 11:30 AM
In the past I have done market reports for both Cobb County and for Country Walk Subdivision. This is a little different.  this time I went back for the last 3 years to look at things in a long term perspective. For Comparison I also looked at the same time periods for the surrounding neighborhoods of Legend Hollow, Peach Plantation, and Country Cove.
