I know that real estate can sometimes be complex and confusing.  To help you feel comfortable with the real estate process, I will be sharing real estate terms to help you feel comfortable with the process of buying or selling.
EQUITY - That interest or value remaining in property after payment of all liens or other charges on the property. A owner's equity is normally the monetary interest over and above the mortgage indebtedness.

As of April 1, 2008, there were 595 South Jordan Homes for sale on the Wasatch Front MLS. This would include houses, condominiums, town homes and P.U.D units. Design Your Life 101 - 06:11 PM
In working with buyers many REALTORS point out the amenities of a house like the kitchens, closet space, backyard size and the surrounding area like the neighborhood and school district. All well and good. But buyers as they move from one phase of their life are buying more than just a house, a neighborhood, a city. They are buying a lifestyle. I call it

But ultimately it is up to the individual or … (18 comments)

I want to thank Chris Reinig at Prudential Ambassador Real Estate. Yesterday the sale of my listing at 16106 Timberlane Dr. in the Millard Park subdivision of southwest Omaha closed. Our marketing resulted in a ton of interest in this property and the buyer that bought it was represented by Chris. This was the first sale I have done with Chris but hopefully not the last.

Low Property Taxes - Pinehurst NC & Southern Pines NC Real Estate - 10:25 PM
North Carolina boasts low real estate taxes in the country - and for the quality of life in NC, the value you get for your real estate tax dollar is extremely high.  For example, a house that was built in 2006 in Pinehurst in a very nice community on a small lake sold recently for $580,000.  The annual taxes for that property in 2088 will be about $4,600.  The house has about 4,300 square feet.  Here's another example - a house that sold in Southern Pines in an older, well establised neighborhood in Southern Pines recently sold for $275,000.  The taxes … (0 comments)

Things To Do In and Around Pinehurst and Southern Pines NC - the Carolina Hurricances - 10:35 PM
Those of us who live in Pinehurst or Southern Pines, North Carolina often make the traffic free 1 hour 15 min drive to Raleigh to take in a Carolina Hurricanes game at the RBC Center.  The arena is very easy to find, and it is right off the highway with easy and cheap parking.  Ticket prices are reasonable, much more so than in other metro areas.  The Canes won the Stanley Cup a couple of years ago; and the many transplants from big hockey towns love having an NHL team in town.  When we have out of town customers, we often … (0 comments)

I can’t imagine starting my real estate career over every 2 years! - 08:25 AM
Yesterday, I met an agent and we started talking about the local market and she said, "Oh, I'm still learning it" I asked her if she was a new agent. She said, "No, I'm just new to this market!"
We continued on with some small talk then I asked, "How long have you been in the business?" Her response amazed me and got me thinking if I could do it and I think my answer was no! You see, what she said was she has been in the business about 23 years and that she moves about every two years to … (29 comments)

Smoke Alarm Maintenance - 11:43 AM
Fire safety professionals recommend you replace smoke alarms before they are 10 years old. Why? Think about it. After working for 10 years, 7 days a week, 24 hours every day, that smoke alarm has been on the job for over 87,000 hours!
How long would it take other appliances to reach 87,000 hours of service?
TV set 5 hours, average/day 48 years
Stove or oven 1 hour, average/day 238 years
Hair dryer 10 minutes, average/day 1,430 years
While you can't really compare a smoke alarm's service life to a TV set or hair dryer, it … (0 comments)
